Jerusalem Restaurants With Sukkot Provided

October 5th 2017

Eating out on Sukkot can get a little tricky if you hold by the Orthodox tradition of only eating under a Sukkah. If this is your habit, then you’re in luck because we’ve compiled a list of some of the best places to eat around Jerusalem that also have conveniently constructed sukkot just for you. Bete’avon!

Shops Along Ben Yehuda & Yaffo

Ben Yehuda and Yaffo are two of the best places to go shopping in the city. That’s why it’s awfully convenient that many of the eateries along these blocks also put up sukkot so tourists can sit down and grab a bite to eat. You’ll find pretty much any type of quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner options within these lanes including bagel shops, shawarma and falafel stands, and pizza stores. So, you’ve got all your essential food groups covered.

The Malls

If you’re more of an indoors shopper, not to worry. Two of Jerusalem’s largest and most popular malls, Malha and Mamilla, both construct sukkot for the voracious appetites that come after a long day of shopping. Malha has two large sukkot situated outside their food courts for some more of the fast food experience. Mamilla, on the other hand, is a little classier, offering individual sukkot for each of the nicer cafes and restaurants that are found within this posh mall.

Cafe Rimon

Of course, if you’re looking for something a little nicer than what we’ve already mentioned (though if you’ve been to the rooftop Mamilla hotel restaurant, I’m not sure you would need anything more breathtaking than that), then head to town for a pleasant meal at Cafe Rimon. Situated at the bottom end of Ben Yehuda, Cafe Rimon has both a dairy and meat section, so you aren’t limited in your choices. Additionally, the menu is complimented by a nice selection of wines and desserts, guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. We highly recommend the French onion soup. Yum!

Further up the Chain

Finally, most of the classier restaurants with a kosher certification will have convenient and comfortable seating arrangements within a sukkah. If you want a really elegant night out, then call any of your favorite dining establishments and ask about sukkah arrangements while making your reservations.

Sukkot is a wonderful holiday to be in Israel with tons of exciting events taking place all the time. Stick to any of these areas, and you won’t have to worry about meal arrangements either!
