3 Best Boardwalks in Israel

January 20th 2018

There is something very magical about strolling along a boardwalk. The sea as your backdrop, the sky painting a picture of tranquility, and the action going on around you creates the perfect blend of romance, reality, and peace. If you know just what we mean, then you’ll appreciate the following post. We’ve put together a list of Israel’s best boardwalks for you to meander along either on your own or with someone you love. Take a look.

Tel Aviv’s HaYarkon Tayelet

The Tel Aviv boardwalk, also known as tayelet in Hebrew, is one of the more modern boardwalks in Israel, but when you look out at the white sand Tel Aviv beaches, you might not even know it. The cyclists, Segways, and dog walkers are abundant, and the shops and cafes are charming. You can easily sit there all day taking in the scenes. Tourists can enter the promenade at any point between Tel Aviv and Bat Yam for a lovely combination of modern day life and nature’s finest highlights.

Tiberias’s Yigal Alon Promenade

Tiberias is a quieter town by any definition, but there is one thing that easily makes the trek up north worth every minute. The beautiful Yigal Alon boardwalk is one of the most serene and lovely pathways in the country. At one end, you’ll enjoy the breathtaking Mediterranean Sea and vibrant flower displays. The view alone is enough to make you want to set up camp. On the other end, you’ll get a fun mix of stalls including henna tattoos, bead work, and unique crafts.

What’s even more fabulous about this promenade is the bright light show that occurs throughout the summer. The multisensory light and sound event uses pyrotechnics, lasers, and dancing fountains for a spectacular show not to miss.

Eilat’s Boardwalk

The Eilat boardwalk is always a happening place no matter what time of year it is. The walkway, which spans about 2 miles in length, gives you a view of the Red Sea and even Jordan in the distance. And, if you are a bargain shopper, then this is the place to be because Eilat doesn’t charge VAT. So, you are looking at an almost 20% discount straight off the bat!
