Exciting Events to Hit Up This Fall in Israel
September 23rd 2016
While we don’t have the lovely leaves changing colors, Israeli fall is still something wonderful to experience. With the heat of the summer behind us and the winter frost not yet settling in, tourists and locals emerge from their air conditioned cocoons to once more embrace life and the great outdoors. And what a reunion! Here are some activities that you can do to celebrate sitting outdoors once more.
First Legion Run
If you are looking for a real challenge, then this is the marathon for you. The First Legion Run is a 5km run nothing like you’ve ever experienced before. The track was designed as an outdoor obstacle course in which participants must brave strange, challenging, and even dangerous obstructions along their path to the finish line. Encumbrances include mud, patches of ice, barbed wire, and even fire! If you are brave enough, the First Legion Run takes place this October 14.
Bible Marathon
Like the idea of running but not for your life? Then join the Bible Marathon, what may be the first official race in history! On October 21, runners will follow the same path that is documented in the beginning of the book of Samuel about a trek after the battle between the Israelites and Philistines. Get in touch with a piece of history and run for fun along this exciting path.
Oktoberfest
If you enjoy a good beer as much as the next guy, then you will love this festival. Originally started in Germany centuries ago, you can now experience the fun and revelry of this beer festival right in Tel Aviv. From October 12-28, fans of the frothy brew will gather for some delicious tastings of German-brewed beer, enjoy live music, and partake in the excitement of this week-long bash.

The festival will be held from October 17-20, and participants can set up tents, barbeque, and delight in the music.
