Dan Hotels Israel

March 2nd 2011

Dan Hotels; a fantastic, Israeli luxury hotel chain.

Established in 1947, the Dan chain was actually not, contrary to popular opinion, created by anyone named Dan. Rather, two brothers- Yekutiel and Shmuel Federmann- decided to invest in a small, quaint guesthouse on the shores of Tel Aviv. The name of the house they purchased: Kaete Dan. Humbly keeping the namesake, they named their organization Dan Hotels Corporation.

The Federmanns built the first Tel Avivian luxury hotel, the Dan Tel Aviv, in 1953. Four years later, they purchased the King David Hotel. A year later, the Dan Accordia in Hertziliya was up and running. You get the picture; they were determined, Jewish men who knew when and how to invest. Now, there are thirteen luxury hotels under the Dan Corporation. All of them fabulous.

One great example:

Dan Eilat-

Referred to as a” self-contained vacation paradise”, this hotel is the definition of luxury. If you choose to stay inside, indulge in Turkish baths, activate your muscles in squash courts, beauty salon, and around the clock entertainment. But if you are desiring to step out into the brilliant Eilat sun ( you are in Eilat after all), Dan Eilat is situated on the beachfront of the Red Sea, with the coral reef and exotic fish at your fingertips, the desert and mountain scenery surrounding you.

Check out scuba diving, snorkeling, and glass-bottomed boat trips. Or sign up for a submarine cruise if you are really feeling the need to be under the sea. And spend the rest of your time basking in the warm sun in the fun, carefree lifestyle that typifies the Eilat experience.

If you’re heading East (an Israeli unofficial tradition), the Dan Chain has broken ground on their first luxury hotel in India.
