Wonderful Trip to IsraelJanuary 2020

Shalom Israel Tours met and exceeded my hopes and expectations! Everything they said they would do, was done! Sagi, our tour guide, was absolutely wonderful! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure our group was having the best experience possible. He was sensitive to the needs of our group. He did many “extras” to make our trip even better. He was willing to work with the agenda according to the needs and wants of the group.

I cannot say enough good things about this fine young man. He made Israel “come to life” for me. Waheb, the bus driver, was also wonderful! I took the classic tour with my two young-adult sons, and this tour was absolutely fantastic for that! Shalom Israel tours was with me from the very start to the end! I am so grateful I went with this company.

Flawless tour of Israel!December 2019

Took the 13-day Jewish Heritage Israel Tour in late November 2019. From the timely and precise answers provided by Shalom prior to booking the tour, to the delivery as we arrived in Israel and through the end of the tour I give the entire experience a superlative grade.

This was one of the top vacations we’ve ever taken and one that we will never forget!

Great Family Private TourNovember 2019

Shalom Tours was recommended to us as a company who could work with a group that was multi-religiosity, multi level of Israel experience and multi-aged. Shalom Israel Tours was all of that due to great planning and to our tour guide Daniel. Further, with a December trip the weather was quite variable and Daniel and Shalom Tours were flexible and accommodating. They understood our primary focus was on giving the children an immersive experience and they succeeded on all counts.

Trip of a lifetime!October 2019

We just got back from 12 days in Israel. We planned our tour with Shalom about a year ago, and we could not have asked for a more enriching experience. We traveled with our teenage boys and both sets of our parents. Most of of us “first timers to Israel”. We had my sons bar mitzvah at Masada and Shalom assisted us with everything. Our Rabbi (Rabbi Bandal) was wonderful. Our tour guide, Meni was unbelievable, he added so much to our trip.

He took us to so many special places when we had extra time. He got to know all 8 of us and at the end of our time together became like family. He was kind, funny, intelligent, compassionate and interesting, and always had our best interest.

Although there is so much to see in Israel, I’m not sure we missed much and we had the time to absorb it all. Thank you for making this family trip unforgettable with so much ease.

Lifetime Memories CreatedSeptember 2019

We recently returned from a 12 day Jewish Heritage Tour with Shalom Israel Tours. I must admit I am a skeptic of organized tours as I prefer to plan things on my own but I have no regrets after spending 12 says in Israel on this tour, From booking, to meeting my transport at the airport, arriving at the hotel, meeting our tour guide, visiting the sites, etc.. it was all seamless. I never had to think about any of the arrangements, it all happened like clockwork.

The actual itinerary is well thought out — a couple days in Tel Aviv, then off to Haifa and the Golan Heights, and finishing up in Jerusalem. My family of five including three teenage kids were never bored and enjoyed every single day.

Shalom Israel did a great job of creating an action packed trip with great accommodations. Everything was as advertised if not better. This is a family run business and it showed by the attentiveness and response time for all my questions. I highly recommend if you are planning to do a trip to Israel!

Excellent!August 2019

My wife and I just returned from the 15 Day Jewish Heritage Tour with Shalom Israel Tours. We have traveled fairly extensively over the years but this trip will rate as one of the best we have ever been on. We researched various companies before booking with Shalom because their itinerary was very extensive.

From the start his communication with us was outstanding. Although he hires 3nd party guides and transportation services he delivered on every account. Arrangements and pickup times were always met from the start of the trip till the end. He offers many hotel choices to fit your budget. We had the most wonderful guide named Meir. His love for his country was infectious as he drove us around filling our heads with history and emotions. Israel is a must on your vacation list and doing it with Shalom Tours was a dream come true.

The Absolute Very Best!May 2019

Second Israel trip booked with Shalom Stark. Tel Aviv, Eilat, Jordan, back to Tel Aviv to Sea of Galilee and then to Jerusalem. He takes care of every detail no matter how small and takes safety seriously. If you are traveling to Israel you need to use this tour company.

Friendly, Professional, ResponsiveApril 2019

My wife, two other couples and I began planning 10 months prior to the trip. Extensive research and several recommendations led us to Shalom. We wanted a private tour for the 6 of us with a guide and van. We had a good idea of what we wanted to see and which hotels we wanted. Shalom suggested several changes that we accepted and he organized the itinerary to maximize the travel time. He booked all the hotels and museums and got us a large comfortable van. Everything went without a hitch…could not have been better.

We heard about a guide named Daniel. We requested him and sooo happy we did. Vast knowledge if the history, geography, culture and politics of Israel. He was so easy to be with. Happy, funny and engaged. He has lived in Israel for 15 years but was born and raised in the U.S. So he speaks American English with no foreign accent. He understands the American culture and could relate to us. He made the trip a wonderful experience. It was like traveling with a friend.

Perfect in every wayMarch 2019

If you’re looking for a tour that is “just right” in length and itinerary, with all the key sites and sights, the 10-day Jewish Heritage Tour will be ideal. Even with all the great reviews Shalom Israel Tours receives, we were a bit skeptical. Believe me … IT REALLY IS SENSATIONAL. From the accommodations to the pacing, the activities to the free time, it was a fabulous tour for first-timers. We saw all the essential aspects of the country … rich in history and diversity. They focus on Judaism but also expose you to the other religions as well. Our tour director, Isaac, was in a word, wonderful. Felt like a family member after 10 days. Every detail was buttoned-down perfect from the pre-planning communication to the gift bag at the hotel to the final transfer to the airport. Would I recommend Shalom Israel Tours? Absolutely!

Amazing, Informative TourFebruary 2019

Just finished our first visit to Israel, using Shalom Israel Tours as our tour operator. What a top-notch outfit! Shalom Stark, owner, is a great communicator and his prompt responses pre-and during the trip anticipated our questions and managed our expectations throughout. We had the most amazing guide, Meni Tabari, whose enthusiasm, knowledge and descriptions made the sites, history, culture, and customs of Israel come alive! We are seasoned worldwide travelers, and Meni is the best guide we’ve encountered! We hope to return someday, and would again contract with Shalom Israel Tours and request Meni as our guide!

Excellent Customer Service!January 2019

From the moment I contacted Shalom Israel for information on booking our 10 day Jewish Heritage tour we were taken care of with excellent service. Shalom patiently answered all of my questions before we signed on, helped us add extra days at the end of our trip and provided tons of helpful information that made preparing for this trip a breeze. In fact it was so easy that this was one of the easiest vacations I have ever taken. The tour itself was fantastic with a packed itinerary of one amazing stop after another. It also helped that our tour guide Meni was fantastic. We will be back in a few years and will book through Shalom Israel again without hesitation!

Great from Start to Finish!December 2018

My 12-day Jewish Heritage Tour with Shalom Israel Tours ended on November 25. This tour was very good choice.
When I was planning my trip to Israel and surfing the web, I came across with Shalom Israel tours. In comparison to another websites I decided that this is a best choice: thoroughly planning, very good itinerary, a lot to see. I liked the option to select the range of the hotels from 3 stars to 5 stars. And 3 stars hotels were very good. Clean, big rooms, excellent service and food, snacks in the afternoon. All hotels in the tour are centrally located allowing us to tour on our own, especially on Shabbat. The Kibbutz Lavi Hotel was a very good choice, the important addition to the knowledge of Israel. The hotel was comfortable, big rooms, good service, the food was excellent,

Our group was small, 9 people. We traveled with a mini bus. We did not have any problems with the bus.

Shalom Stark, the manager of the tour company, provided excellent service before, during the trip, and even after the trip, promptly answering questions, concerns, needs by emails.
He changed the plan of the trip, when a rain was by a forecast. We did not lost the opportunity to go to Masada and Dead sea.

The Tower of David Museum “Night Spectacular” (included in the tour) was SPECTACULAR!. Is must to see.

Pick up service in the airport and going to the airport was well planned, always in time, comfortable.

Our tour guide Yaki was energetic, very knowledgeable in the history of the Israel and the modern culture of the country, friendly, humorous and he made the tour unforgettable I can highly recommend Shalom Tours and Yaki as a guide.
Israel is must to see.

Excellent Family TripNovember 2018

We recently returned from a ten day private tour in Israel with Mordechai Weiss. It was an excellent trip. Our guide, Mordechai became part of the family as we traveled all around Israel. He was constantly talking and explaining the various sites that we visited. Driving from site to site he pointed out various landmarks as we were passing them and gave us their history. He is an expert in Judaism as well as historical facts.

We are a family of four, our sons are grown and he treated each of us in a very special personalized way throughout the entire trip. I do not think you could find a better guide for a family trip. Through our conversations we discovered that Mordechai was a Rabbi from Teaneck N.J. This was very pleasant surprise.

Where to begin?October 2018

Dear Shalom Tours,

Where to begin?  AHARON.  His historical understanding  of Israel is beyond measure, and though I do not know his last name, it was he who made every site come alive with detail and vivacity.  He was an excellent guide and spokesman for your beautiful country.  He was inspirational, added humor, and praise of him would not come out as wonderfully as his guidance throughout Israel.  I would recommend him to ANYONE interested in an educational and thorough trip through his understanding of your country.  His voice was priceless in all we saw and did.

There was not one “glitch” on the entire tour.  The only “heads up” I might add is that with both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem we had some hotel confirmation difficulties in the check-in process.

We LOVED both hotels and the 2 nights at the kibbutz.  We stayed at the Tel Aviv Beach Hotel in Tel Aviv (GORGEOUS!!!!) and the Orient Hotel (PAMPERED in all ways possible).  My travel companion selected these, and her call was a great one.  Just so you know, we have never stayed anywhere we felt so indulged.  The “chader ochel” in the Orient was phenomenal, especially you head staff person who made us a photo of us on the latte!!!!  We couldn’t drink it-we just kept taking photos of our own coffee photos!!!  They put shame on American hotels, believe me.

It was Chris Linton’s first visit, and she will never forget her time there.  Upon return to our little town in New Mexico, she and I call or text every morning with a memory from Israel.  Aharon would always say to our group on the bus, “Wakey/Wakey” to point out something on the right side or left side of the bus.  Chris and I greet one another with the same expression and probably always will.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for an amazing adventure for us in Israel.

Sincerely,

Deborah Stein Geary

Amazing Private Tour of IsraelJune 2018

Our guide Daniel was great. He is knowledgeable, interesting and fun. The itinerary that Shalom designed for us worked out so well. Daniel knew just where to take us to fill in any free time such as the De Karina chocolate factory. He really understood our vacation style and helped us choose perfect meals and activities. Hotels were beautiful especially the Orient in Jerusalem.

We enjoyed all of the sites and hearing Daniel’s perspective which really enhanced our experiences. We enjoyed Masada, floating in the Dead Sea, walking in the Western Wall Tunnels, City of David, Golan Heights, and the list goes on. We learned so much about Israel and felt that we grew personally. This was a vacation that was meaningful to us and let us bring home a healthy perspective for our lives and a higher level of appreciation for Israel.

Loved Every Minute, and Mordecai was the BEST!May 2018

We decided to book a trip for my son’s Bar Mitzvah. I did a ton of researched and narrowed down the selection to 5 tour operators. Shalom was responsive and flexible! We had a short amount of time to squeeze in all of the sights (just 8 days). Shalom helped us to select the activities that best suited our family. Our kids (13 and 15) were engaged the entire time. Mordecai was our guide. He was the perfect fit for us. He knew how to keep the kids interested, and he answered every question clearly. Our joke was “another pile of rocks”, but my kids can explain the historical significance and time period of every site we visited. Shalom also arranged for the Rabbi (Rabbi Bandel) and the Bar Mitzvah ceremony. Rabbi Bandel skyped with my son on Sundays for weeks before we left, so the Rabbi knew my son before we arrived, which made the experience even more special. Shalom also arranged for our restaurants, and anything else we needed. We just asked, and received confirmation the next day! If you are traveling with teens, request Mordecai as your guide – he was the perfect combination of a buddy, and the best history teacher ever!

Wonderful Experience, Start to Finish!March 2018

Our first visit to Israel, March 7-21, was inspiring, eye-opening and surprisingly emotional. Shalom Stark, through Shalom Israel Tours, provided an excellent itinerary, impeccable lodging and an extraordinary tour guide for our 2 week Jewish Heritage tour. Needless to say, we were more than satisfied.

We were lucky enough to travel on a small bus with six other couples who quickly became friends and helped make the trip even more enjoyable.

The tour was phenomenal. Every tour day was full of history and amazing sites, locations that we wanted to see, and many others that we had never heard about but rounded out our knowledge of the country. We travelled from the modern city of Tel Aviv to the thousands year old city of Jerusalem, from the heights of Masada to the depths of the Dead Sea and finally from the resort city of Eilat to the historical city of Petra in Jordan. We were surprised at how beautiful the scenery was and the change from the Golan Heights to the Negev Desert. We could not ask for a better tour.

Our guide, Eli Dabi, was amazing and made the history of the country and its people come alive. He was passionate about his country, knowledgeable about its history and funny. He helped us understand what it took to be a settler and what it is like to live in Israel today. We could not have asked for a better guide.

Shalom Israel Tours took care of everything and everything worked like clockwork, from the person who met us after customs in Tel Aviv, to the driver who picked us up at our hotel in the middle of the night to take us back to the airport for our flight home. The hotels we selected were centrally located allowing us to tour on our own, especially on Shabbat. Shalom Stark was a pleasure to deal with when we first started to consider the tour and was always responsive to our questions and needs even after we came home. We highly recommend Shalom Israel Tours to anyone contemplating a trip to Israel.

Amazing Journey!February 2018

The man is absolutely amazing as to his knowledge of the various locations and the biblical history associated with each site. Each location was punctuated with knowledge, insight and humor. As a travel agent i have traveled with many groups and find this one being exceptional. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to see the wonders of Israel and to be led by someone who is both passionate and knowledgeable about this country.

Terrific Trip!January 2018

We had an amazing trip to Israel thanks to Shalom Tours and our wonderful guide, Shimon who made the experience so special for us! We couldn’t have been happier and would highly recommend Shalom Tours and Shimon to anyone traveling to Israel!!!

Best Tour EVER!!December 2017

I went on this tour with my husband and in-laws in November. It was an 8 day comprehensive tour covering most of the highlights in Israel. We had an absolutely amazing tour guide, Ze’ev! He was so knowledgeable about history, geology, religion, culture, architecture and was very enthusiastic about sharing and conveying his knowledge. We did something amazing every day! 17 people on the tour total for first part and 15 the remainder. Everyone got along very well. Great meals included and activities. This was the way to go to see and learn as much as possible while in Israel. Tour was somewhat tailored for older adults and the desires of the group in general. No young kids. I would highly, highly recommend.

Trip of a Lifetime with Shalom Israel Tours and AaronNovember 2017

My wife and just returned from the Jewish Heritage Tour 15 day tour with Petra. (Nov 1 -15th). I booked Shalom Tours because of they were very attentive to my many questions and I felt a comfort level with Shalom Stark. My wife and I have travelled a lot but this was our very first tour and I must honestly say we couldn’t have done everything we did on our own. Nor could we have learned as much as we did without our guide Aaron. His knowledge and the way he “presented” and shared information with us at every stop was great! He answered questions and made the trip better. Israel is a very beautiful and diverse country and my wife and I now have even a great appreciation of it.

We arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday and received our welcome pack from Shalom Tours when we checked in. Thursday morning Aaron picked us up at the hotel along with some others. We made a few more stops to pick up some others. As soon as we were all on the bus he welcomed us, told us about himself and you could see the pride in face and hear it in his voice. He was ready to share it all with us!

Be prepared for full days with each day being better than the previous. My wife and I enjoy exploring for restaurants. Shalom provided some suggestions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and we also found our own. The dinners were always great. the food is so fresh and wonderful.

I would recommend Shalom Israel Tours and Shalom Stark to everyone. We had the trip of a lifetime and I know you will too!

Terrific tour–everything was as promisedOctober 2017

Terrific tour–the guide, Mali, could not have been better–knowledgable, enthusiastic, and a great people person. Shalom Stark went out of his way to help. Would recommend to anyone looking for a Jewish Heritage tour.

Incredible tour of Israel with incredible guide!September 2017

My wife and I just returned from Shalom Israel’s 15 day Jewish Heritage tour. From arrival in Israel until the ending of our tour, everything promised in the tour description was delivered and so much more. Shalom Stark handled all of the logistics of airport arrivals/departures, hotel reservations, tour bus driver and guide perfectly. We’ve been on several guided tours before, but our tour director, Ilan Cohen was the best ever. His knowledge about the history and people of Israel was incredible. His interaction with our tour group made the tour even more interesting, always eager to answer everyone’s questions. Even though he conducted this tour or ones like it many times over the years, he always kept everyone’s interest and was never boring. If I could give Shalom Israel tours and our tour director Ilan Cohen more than 5 stars I would.

Great experience – recommend highly!September 2017

We just returned from the 12 day Jewish Heritage tour and it was a wonderful experience. We saw so many things in a short period of time – and really had the chance to experience the highlights of the country. Our tour guide, Mali Harel, was a font of information and truly enjoyed sharing her knowledge, energy and love of Israel with everyone on the tour. All details were covered – and some of the special extras (wine when we arrived in Jerusalem, Tower of David show, cookies on our departure) made the trip more meaningful. Our group of fellow travelers were fun and added to the enjoyment. For a first time visitor (my husband) or someone who has been to Israel before (me), there were many interesting things to see and do. I highly recommend Shalom Israel tours for everyone!

Outstanding Private TourAugust 2017

We just got back from our fabulous private 13 day classic Israel tour arranged by Shalom Tours. For most of us on the tour, it was our first trip to Israel and Petra. From the time we were met at the airport through out the entire tour, we had a great experience. Our guide, Eli, was spectacular. He related well to everyone in our group. His knowledge of the various sites that we visited was completely engaging. We wanted to customize the tour and Shalom was very accommodating. We got to see more of what Israel has to offer than we thought we would. Shalom kept in touch with us during the trip and was particularly responsive to our needs. We would highly recommend Shalom Tours and especially Eli.

Amazing Private Tour!!!July 2017

Our 6 day private tour was incredible! From the start, Shalom helped us create a tour that was perfect for our small group. This was our first trip to Israel for my son’s bar mitzvah and I wanted to make sure that we saw all the must see sights including activities that would be fun for the whole family. And that is exactly what Shalom created! We planned for a year and made some tweaks to the plan along the way and Shalom was always very accommodating. Anytime I had any questions, he always replied quickly and gave me the best information. As soon as we got to Israel, Shalom’s top notch service began as we were met by a greeter as soon as we disembarked from the airplane. He ushered us through the entry process quickly and was very helpful with all our questions and helped up carry our bags to our driver that was waiting for us to take us to our hotel in Jerusalem.

Once we checked in, Shalom’s welcome packages were waiting for us in our room and he even had a box of cookies sent to our rooms on Shabbat! We began our tour at the end of the week after my son’s bar mitzvah. Our tour guide Meni was recommended to us from a friend and Shalom was able to book him for us. Meni was an outstanding guide! He was very engaging and passionate about everything he talked to us about. We learned so much from him and it left us wanting more!! He went above and beyond to educate us and show us the realities of life in Israel and so much of Israel’s history. He really enlightened us and made us feel very safe! Meni’s enthusiasm was contagious. My hard to impress son, was thoroughly engaged with all of Meni’s stories and knowledge wherever we went as we all were. We truly enjoyed his company everyday. He is a very kind and warm person and my family quickly came to adore him.

We hated to have to say goodbye. However, we think we have made a new life long friend and hope to keep in touch! On our departure day, a driver was waiting for us at our hotel as planned to take us to the airport. Everything went very smoothly. Throughout the trip, Shalom kept in touch with helpful reminder emails and replied promptly whenever I had a question. We hope we can return again in the not too distant future as there is so much that we still want to do and see in Israel. We highly recommend Shalom Israel Tours to everyone wanting an outstanding tour of Israel and of course request Meni as your tour guide and you will not be disappointed!!!

Thank you Shalom & Meni for an amazing trip to Israel that has given us so many incredible memories that we will always cherish!!

Family Vacation TourJune 2017

Shalom Tours is a first class operation. From the arrival in Israel to the tour and the departure from Israel they were on time everyday. Our tour guide Daniel Gutman was extremely knowledgeable, funny, responsible and was aware of our dad’s limitations (age 92) in recommending what he can and shouldn’t do in the tour. We spent 12 days in Israel. We loved staying at Royal Beach Hotel in Tel Aviv and David Citadel in Jerusalem. Dan was very flexible in our tour. If we wanted to stay longer in one place , he adjusted and made recommendations. Dan showed us so many great places that I ended up taking 2,000 pictures. A highlight of the trip was meeting Dan’s family as they had a surprise cake for my brother in laws 60th birthday. What a nice surprise. Exploring caves, Masada, Dead Sea, Western Wall and King David Tower light show are a few must do’s in Israel.

All in all I want to thank Daniel and Shalom for making this trip so memorable, safe and fun for our family..

Fabulous private tour of IsraelMay 2017

We used Shalom Israel to book a private tour for four of us. Shalom helped us plan a fabulous itinerary, which we adjusted before and during our trip. From the moment we stepped off the plane, Shalom’s staff gave us VIP treatment. Someone met us at the gate and ushered us to the terminal and through customs, and saw us to the driver who took us to our hotel. The next day, we met our tour guide Shimon, who gave us a fascinating and informative 8-day tour of Israel from the coast to the Golan Heights to Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Masada. Shimon adjusted the schedule daily to our needs and interests, and made sure that we learned a lot and had fun, fun, fun. We had extra days to spend in Jerusalem, and Shimon gave us many suggestions for things to do, how to get there. Thanks to Shalom and Shimon, we experienced the trip of a lifetime! I will call them again for my next trip.

Incredible Tour Company and Exceptional GuideApril 2017

We just completed a phenomenal two-week tour designed by Shalom Stark (Shalom Israel Tours) and guided by Eli Dabi. Last year I sent several agencies a list of sites/activities in Israel and asked them to create an itinerary for my three-generational family. Shalom responded within a few days and was the ONLY agent who seemed to have read my email. I received the stock 12-day tour from all the others. Shalom took into consideration our ages, our wishes, and our need to have active time for our grandchildren. He answered all questions within a day or two and was willing to make changes and fulfill any requests. While in Israel, he checked in with us to make sure that everything was going well and was in contact with our guide throughout our visit.

Eli Dabi is an incredibly nice man and very knowledgeable. I’m sure that there are many guides with those qualities. What sets Eli apart is his passion for Israel, his sharing of Israeli customs, his sharing of personal details, and his wonderful sense of humor. On most days, he showed us sites beyond our scheduled itinerary. He was willing to spend long days with us and never made us feel he was rushing to end the day. We developed a feeling for the land and a very good sense of Israel’s borders. After our last stop, we talked to our family and ended with playing Hatikvah. Our 12-year-old grandson removed his cap and placed his hand on his heart. Thanks to Eli for instilling us with his own passion.

Whether you are booking a tour or creating a private journey, please contact Shalom Stark and please request Eli as your guide. You will have an unbelievable experience that will enrich your life. And you will return home with indelible memories of Israel and a yearning to return.

A wonderful Israel tour with an outstanding guide!March 2017

We just returned from our first trip to Israel, and are so glad we chose Shalom Israel. We saw so many sights – not all the usual stops, either. Our guide, Aaron, was extremely knowledgeable and shared his personal stories and perspectives, which made the trip even more memorable. He was truly a treasure. There were a few unique touches: the cookies sent to our hotel room for Shabbat from Shalom Tours, for example. Our driver to/from the airport was also terrific, and our tour bus driver was extremely professional and timely.
I can’t say enough about this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Just please realize that this is a structured tour, and your free time will be limited. You will see a great deal of sites, but not enough very much shopping time. Get advice from the guide about what to do on Shabbat, when many things are closed. We managed to fill every day until we dropped.
THANK YOU, SHALOM TOURS!!!!

More than a five star reviewFebruary 2017

I am not even sure where to begin to describe how incredible Shalom and his team are . From the moment Shalom was contacted, he responded immediately, worked with us to make this a personal trip instead of a tour. This was a special trip for my family as it was the firs trip to Israel and my Mom’s 70th birthday. Shalom proposed the perfect trip with just enough downtime amongst all the incredible sites he managed to put in our trip.

The next best part was our incredible guide- the one and only Mr. Eli Dabi, from the moment we met at the Dan Tel Aviv until our last dinner in Eilat, this man showed us Israeli hospitality at it’s finest. His love for his country is felt every minute of the day, his kindness and heart is ls bigger than any person I know. He is now a family member and hopefully will be part of our lives for a very long time. Shalom, the extra touches you provide are wonderful.

I would rate Shalom and his crew A plus plus. Thank you again and again.

*****WONDERFUL*****January 2017

We came as a family from Westchester, NY – 6 adults and 5 children – and stayed about 10 days. Shalom gave us an EXCELLENT tour program with a mini bus, driver and tour guide!!! Not a moment was wasted and every detail was taken care of expertly. We had a FABULOUS Bat Mitzvah experience near the Western Wall with a Rabbi and torah and it was definitely a highlight.

THANK YOU Shalom. We do not hesitate for a second to recommend Shalom Israel Tours.

Fantastic 12 Day Jewish Heritage TourDecember 2016

Not sure where to begin….fantastic guide, Yaki made our trip of a lifetime great. Yaki is smart, funny, warm, street wise, an historian and a mensch. We traveled with 2 teenage boys who had a blast too! Favorite activities for all in our group were the keep tour, the Jerusalem walking day and Masada/Dead Sea. Shalom was always available and answered all of our questions in preparing for the trip. EVERYTHING was as expected and more! Go and enjoy!

100% satisfied with our tour of Israel!November 2016

Before selecting Shalom Tours, I looked at the offerings of many other tour companies. They omitted key sites of interest, or offered heavily faith-oriented programs. My husband and I wanted an itinerary with not only customary destinations like Jerusalem, the Galilee, Bethlehem, Jericho and the Dead Sea but also less frequently visited places like the Negev Desert, Mitzpeh Ramon Crater, Timna Mines, Israeli defense forces, Eilat, and the Red Sea. We also wanted a tour that was based in Israel, not crafted by Americans for Americans although our group were mostly Americans. My mother (age 78) and her sister (age 80) were also traveling with us. Though in good health, they needed a tour they could manage.

Only Shalom Tours offered a tour that met all our criteria. Ultimately, we chose the 11-Day Holy Land & Petra Tour. We opted out of the Petra Tour, and took a leisure day in Eilat, as we were visiting Jordan on a separate tour later. Shalom Stark was very prompt and detailed in his correspondence with us. He understood what we wanted and offered tours that best suited our needs.

From start to finish, our tour was well-planned and well-organized. An attendant met us at Ben Gurion Airport and helped us file a lost luggage report when part of our luggage did not arrive. Our first guide, Benayah, was extremely knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. He knew how to engage all the diverse members of the group. He was also adept at reordering the itinerary (without leaving anything out) based on circumstances. The tour was fairly hectic, though this is understandable considering the wealth of sites that were packed into it. Nothing was left out – from the dazzling Mediterranean cities of Caesarea and Acco to the mind-blowing ruins at Capernaum. There was a prayerful presentation at the Garden Tomb given by a docent at the site, a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, and a chance to bathe in the river Jordan at Yardenit. We even stopped at a scenic overlook in the Golan Heights where we could look across the border of Syria and see an ISIS checkpoint. There was literally something for every taste. Our only wish was to have spent more time at the Dead Sea. Our bus driver, Atef, was obliging, efficient, and skilled at navigating through tight areas.

After spending 6 days in the northern part of Israel with Benayah and Atef, we spent 5 days in the southern part of Israel with Eli, who served as our guide and driver. He alertly re-routed our trip to avoid a jammed checkpoint (we arrived during Eid) and took us on a fascinating drive that skirted Israel’s border with Egypt. Eli gave a fascinating account of Ben-Gurion’s life during a visit to the former prime minister’s desert home.

Another item on our wish-list was to stay in hotels that were Israeli-owned, not part of American-owned chains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stays in the Dan Panorama hotels in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and at the Kibbutz Lavi in Galilee. The Dan Panorama in Eilat was also nice, but the service there was less attentive, possibly due to the large crowds of vacationers.

A couple of pointers: it can be searingly hot in Israel in early September, and many sites call for modest dress (especially the Temple Mount). Be prepared for the experience of blazing sun and heat! Also, be sure to set aside some gratuity money for your guides and drivers.

We were 100% satisfied with this tour and can enthusiastically recommend it to anyone (and already have!).

I’d Give Ten Stars if I Could!!October 2016

This was my first trip to Israel, and I’m so very glad I chose Shalom Israel Tours for this Jewish Heritage Tour. From the very first email I sent, Shalom Stark was prompt and informative in his replies. With every subsequent question I had (and I had many), Shalom was kind and patient. The smiling personalized pick up, luggage assistance and hotel transfer at Ben Gurion Airport was a special touch.

The tour itself was OUTSTANDING, and Mali, our guide, was a true gem. She is extremely knowledgeable and ever so patient. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious making the trip all that much more enjoyable. The hotels were fantastic and, despite the weather not cooperating on our entry into Jerusalem, we didn’t let a little rain dampen our good spirits.

This trip was top notch!! To not hesitate to book with Shalom Israel Tours. You’ll be glad you did!!

Israel Trip for Family Bat Mitzvah -Trip of a LifetimeSeptember 2016

We returned from our Israel trip that Shalom Israel Tours organized for us. Shalom did an excellent job listening to the needs of our group and put together a tour that we will remember for a lifetime. From the moment we were greeted at the airport we experienced a professional well organized knowledgeable guided tour of Israel. Shalom always answered all my many many questions. He arranged for my daughters Bat Mitzvah ceremony at Masada which was amazing. Something we couldn’t have even imagined.

Our tour guide Eli Dabi was just EXCELLENT he was very knowledgeable and made our entire tour perfect. He made our long touring days fun and made us laugh. During our trip he made any changes we requested last minute. He surprised us all the time and we are so grateful to him. He became part of our family and we were all very sad to say goodbye to him.

I would HIGHLY recommend Shalom Israel Tours to anyone who is experiencing Israel especially there first time. I would also highly recommend asking for Eli. When we come back to Israel we will ONLY use Shalom Israel Tours and would only want Eli.

“Wonderful family trip”August 2016

We spent 10 fun filled and fulfilling days in Tel Aviv, the Golan, Galilee and Jerusalem, as well as Masada and the Dead Sea. Shalom planned a great itinerary that worked for all three generations in our family, with meaningful things for everyone. Our guide, Eli Dabi, did a fabulous job and became a member of our family. We visited historical sites, rode camels, rafted in the Jordan River, made chocolate and learned how shofars are made. We also visited pantry packers and did a mitzvah. We strongly recommend Shalom Israel Tours!

“The BEST Tour Experience with Shalom Tours & Meni Tzabari”July 2016

Shalom Israel Tours is the BEST tour company you can book whether you are traveling solo like me or as a couple or family. Really, you do not need to look any further, this is such an amazing tour company; the personal touch and attention to detail is incredible. If you are lucky enough to have Meni Tzabari as your guide you will learn so much, as he is passionate about Israel and so generous with his knowledge of the history, agriculture, geography, and religion of the country. Request to have Meni as your tour guide if this is possible but I am confident that the company will take care of you and any of your specific requests. Meni kept the group laughing every day and continuously made sure each person in the group was doing OK and having a good experience.
Shalom Stark answered every email promptly and in detail and helped with every aspect of planning my trip.

People who joined our group from other tour companies were jealous of the special touches, unique places we visited, and all-around exemplary service we received as compared to their experiences. Our group was made up of wonderful people from all over the US and Meni had a gift of bringing us all together to laugh, share meals and experience the beauty of the country.

I have had an amazing experience that will last a lifetime. I am on my last day of the 15 day Heritage tour and wanted to offer my review while I am still here. Thank you Shalom Tours and Meni for an experience that was more than just a trip. Thank you to all my new friends on the tour for the good times, laughs, the sharing of some great meals, and always making me feel so happy that I took this trip!

Exceptional!

If you are shopping tours in Israel, you have found THE BEST! We just returned from a 14 day trip that included Petra. Our tour guide, Aharon, made every sight exceptional with his knowledge and his way of telling the story of what we were seeing. His love of Israel was always evident and made him a wonderful ambassador for Israel. Shalom tours picked exceptional hotels, bus driver (Alom) and sights for us to see. We were on the go from 8am to 6pm, seeing everything possible. Aharon had a way of keeping us all on time with little chance of delays and helping those with special needs and problems, which we experienced. I highly recommend Shalom Tours and be sure to request Aharon as your guide! You will feel safe and glad you went. Jane Kofender

“10 FABULOUS DAYS IN ISRAEL”February 2016

We just returned from our adventure in Israel with Shalom Tours. Our guide and itinerary were exceeded our expectations Every day was a new, fantastic adventure visiting Tel aviv, Jerusalem, Kibbutz Lavi ,Safed, and Massada. Shalom’s extra touches included door to door roundtrip service from airport to hotel, cookies delivered to our room on shabbat, suggestions for great dinner spots, and attentive care and guidance from Jacky, our guide. We upgraded our accomodations in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, an option provided by Shalom, and can’t say enough about the fantastic service and beautiful rooms we enjoyed visiting. Shalom is always available to speak with online our by phone and even secured a private, fantastic guide for us on shabbat in Tel Aviv before our group tour started. See Israel with Shalom, and you will not be disappointed.

“Jewish Heritage 10 day Tour”January 2016

My wife and I just finished a 10 day trip to Israel (our first) highlighted by 6 days of guided touring arranged by Shalom Israel Tours. Our trip was wonderful – but we can not say enough about Shalom – and the tour. Since my review is long… the summary is;
1. Go to Israel.
2. Absolutely use Shalom Israel Day Tours. and
3. If you have the chance to cross paths with our guide Eli – jump at the opportunity!

13 Day Heritage TourJanuary 2016

My husband and I just finished a 13 day tour with Shalom Israel tours. We had two different guides, both Aharon & Eli were fabulous! There were only seven of us on the group tour and we all became like family at the end! We did so much each day that we almost had trouble staying up until 10 o’clock at night! Even though we had some early wake up calls, we were always eager to get going and see what the new day would bring. This is our first experience with a group tour and it went so well. Thanks, Shalom, for answering all our questions, being attentive to our requests and choosing wonderful guides!

“Excellence from start to finish!”December 2015

We just returned from a 14 day tour with Shalom Israel Tours for our son’s and daughter’s B’nai Mitvot. There were 5 of us initially and then my parents and sister joined us for our second week. From start to finish, working with Shalom was wonderful. He planned out an itinerary and was very open to making changes based on interests and family needs. He included lots of sites, museums and attractions each day and also built in time to relax and process everything we were seeing. He created a trip that took us all over Israel, so we were able to see and do so much in the time we were there. He was mindful to include kid-friendly activities (like zip lining) and also a volunteer opportunity at a food packing pantry. Shalom worked with us to include an IDF base visit through Israel Connections (highly recommend doing that!). He was able to work with me and my father to develop a plan that worked for everyone after my parents and sister joined us mid-trip.

Shalom personally answers every email within 24 hours, if not sooner. He is very professional and helpful and willing to answer any question you may have. He is able to read between the lines of your emails and make you feel that everything will be handled perfectly.

From the minute we landed at the airport, everything was, indeed, handled perfectly! The transportation through the airport and to the hotel was seamless. Shalom was even kind enough to send a huge assortment of kosher cookies to both us and my parents for the B’nail Mitzvot and her personally called us during the trip to ensure everything was going well. He also worked with our rabbi– who travelled over to perform the ceremony and spend time with us– and handled everything for him just perfectly. We did not have to think about anything but enjoying ourselves and taking in the history and beauty of Israel!

Our tour guide, Eli, was beyond AMAZING! He *made* our trip. If it was great due to Shalom’s planning, it was elevated to spectacular because of Eli. His heart and passion for Israel are so evident and his knowledge of every aspect of every place we visited (and even those we didn’t get to) is remarkable. He interacted well with all of us and our kids LOVED him! He went above and beyond what I would consider “normal” tour guide duties. For example, our 9 year old couldn’t go to Yad Vashem, so Eli spent two hours with him (riding trains and going for pizza and candy!) so the rest of us could go. Eli made us all feel secure, he gave us his number to call if we needed anything when he wasn’t with us, and he shared his love of country in such a beautiful way. After spending every day with him for almost two weeks, he became like family and we miss him much!

Our Shabbat guide Emmanuel was also very nice and also incredibly knowledgeable. He made our first time seeing the Western Wall very special and was good at reading our group and keeping everyone happy (not an easy feat)!

My advice, if you’re considering a trip to Israel and are considering Shalom Israel tours, is to stop looking around and book with Shalom! From start to finish, your experience will be better than anything you could imagine. We hope to return in four years for our 9 year old’s Bar Mitzvah and we will definitely be using Shalom Israel tours!

“Outstanding”November 2015

Just go home after touring with Shalom tours for 10 days, Only 7 people in our group. Slow time in winter means best time to tour for us. The guide, Yaki, that Shalom had provided was excellent; very knowledgeable and attentive. I can hardly believe how much we did in our 10 day tour. My husband and I will be in touch in 2017 when we plan to take our children and grandchildren. We will book again around Thanksgiving; it is the best time to get the best deal. It is winter in Israel at this time, but their winter is similar to ours in California, so it was not a problem for us. We are are in awe of this beautiful country with all its history and beauty, It is truly our home, away from home!

“Fantastic tour!”October 2015

We just came back from the 10 Day Jewish Heritage Tour and we had the most amazing time. This tour exceeded our already high expectations. We had heard from others who had toured with this company that Shalom Tours was responsive, well-organized, and had excellent tour guides, and our own experience confirmed that all of this is true. We felt that we were in good hands throughout our trip.

Our tour guide, Eli Dabi, was phenomenal. He had a wealth of information about Israel and its history, and his emotion and passion for Israel made the tour that much more memorable. And he is very funny! There was lots of laughter during our time on the bus, mainly due to Eli’s sense of humour. The tour itself was well-paced. We didn’t spend a lot of time at each site, but we spent enough time at each place to learn about it and then decide if we want to go back there on our next visit to Israel. The days were busy but not overwhelming, and we had plenty of time to relax at the end of each day. I highly recommend Shalom Tours. This was our first time in Israel and I can’t imagine a better way to see this amazing country.

“Shalom tours and Eli Dabi are an unbeatable combo!”October 2015

Wow! I was really nervous about our first trip to Israel at a time of increased “activity”. Everyone said I’d feel very safe once there….they were absolutely correct. I called Shalom many times prior to leaving New Jersey and they called back promptly with whatever response i needed at that time. Eli the guide was the added bonus. He was charming, patient, knowledgeable, humorous and comprehensively terrific.

The tour was packed with the heritage sites as expected and Eli’s talks about each site (and in between) made them come alive. We selected our hotel from a group of star ratings and were quite pleased with the Dan Panorama-more so in Tel Aviv than in Jerusalem. The food was plentiful and yummy. It was much warmer than expected there, so walking (hiking) was more difficult than anticipated. We had no trouble sleeping at night, that’s for sure. We met a nice bunch of people who got along quite well considering that we were strangers when we began, but more like a family by the end. I would heartily recommend Shalom Tours to anyone.

“10 Day Heritage tour”Visited October 2015

Was the best experience I had in a long time, much more and better than I ever expected. Our tour guide, Eli, was extremely knowledgeable and happy to share his knowledge with us. He could even inform some of the tour group the difference between American and Israeli pastrami. Always good to know that some things are “same / same, only different. There was no hiccups with the tour, every thing went smoothly, a bit rushed, but then you have to decide for yourself whether you want to see more, or see less with more time. This was just the starter course, will have to go back for the main course! Thank you again!

“Great Experience”October 2015

Took a 10 day escorted trip to Israel. Our tour guide Eli was excellent and the group we traveled with acted like cousins. We were busy every day with plenty of sights to see. The weather was perfect and the temperature for the middle of October was very warm. How about 100 degrees at the Dead Sea. I would highly recommend Shalom Tours for your next trip to Israel.

Grayman FamilyOctober 28 - November 11, 2015

We took the 15 day Jewish Heritage Tour starting in late October with Shalom Tours. It was our first trip to Israel and this tour was perfect in length and scope. We added the day trip to Petra which was amazing. Our guide Eli was wonderful. Can’t say enough about how great he was well informed, intelligent, very funny and personable. He did a great job integrating history geopolitics and the current societal issues. We were lucky to have Alam as our skilled and very pleasant driver. We stayed at the Dan Panorama hotels in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Eilat. The locations were excellent and the buffet breakfasts plentiful. We travelled with a wonderful group of people – we truly bonded during our two weeks and looked out for each other. Miss you all ‘Eli’s Group!’

Roseman Family AdventureJuly 13-23, 2015

After much indecision, thank goodness I went on this amazing tour of Israel! (I was worried about the physical challenges, and it was difficult due to the walking on uneven ground and so many steps!) We were so lucky to have Daniel Gutman as our guide, and never have a met a more, passionate, knowledgeable and personable tour guide. I would recommend no one else! We toured from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and surrounding areas and saw amazing sights every day, and had the opportunity to be at the top of Masada for the B’nai Mitzvah of Michael and Sydney. I can’t pick my favorite day, but I thank Sally for including me and my son, Greg, for this opportunity to see the amazing country of Israel and the home of my forefathers! I’m just sad my father didn’t live long enough to be there with us, but know he was there in spirit!

Boruchowitz Family Experience!July 30 - August 6, 2015

Though I’m sure Israel would have been amazing regardless, I do know that having Eli as a tour guide was by far the greatest gift to have while there. He was one of the family and we all cried when it was time to part with him. To have had someone that was able to show us and teach us so much in only one week as well as touch our hearts so much we still miss him made Shalom tours the only way I would ever tour Israel. Next time I’m there it is a guarantee that I will use Shalom tours and Eli to make my experience as amazing as my first one. Thank you!

Freind Family Return Visit!July 26 - August 2, 2015

This was our second time using Shalom Israel Tours. They did a fantastic job. Was traveling with my two children and Shalom planned things that were interesting for my children. All the details of our trip were perfect. Guides were fantastic, hotel was great, transfers were easy. When we had to make some changes, Shalom Israel Tours couldn’t have been more flexible. I will definitely use this tour company on our next trip to Israel.

Brown Family Group TourJuly 10-22, 2015

We just came home after a 13 day tour of Israel. We were with our two kids, ages 19 and 15. We booked through Shalom Tours and our guide was Aharon (pronounced Aaron). The tour was called The Jewish Heratage Tour. I can’t say enough good things about the tour, about Shalom Tours or Aharon as our guide. Shalom Tours was always responsive both before, during and after our tour. Ahoron was interesting, organized and honestly, one of the best guides I’ve ever had. He explained the history and signifigance of all of the sights we saw, but also shared personal stories that gave everything more meaning. We saw so many sights, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, Petra, Northern Israel and The Golan Heights I would highly recommend.

Silverstein Family AdventureJune 29 - July 10, 2015

All I can say from start to finish the best tour company in Israel. From the first call to get a quote for our private family tour to making several changes as the day got closer to the awesome Rabbi Rodman Peretz for our Daughters Bat-Mitzvah at the Robinson Arch(Thanks for talking us out of Masada). Also arranging to allow us to have our entire family to join us at Genesis Land for a great Camel ride and Dinner. Now about Our Guide Mordechai Weiss. We were so privileged to have him as our Tour Guide. From the first day that we met him at our Hotel in Tel Aviv we knew he would fit right in with our family. Mordechai was like meeting that long lost family member who has been living in Israel all his life. From the time we left Tel Aviv to the last day in Jerusalem he made sure that we saw everything on planned tour and more. There was never a time that he was not filling us up with all his knowledge of Israel. The long drives never seemed long as we were always in conversation. Several times we went to places that were not on our list but well worth the stops.( The Jordan River was by far the best of those stops) We never felt rushed at any place we went, always a smile and we have plenty of time. Mordechai also knows the best places to eat for lunch. Tell your friend that he still has the best Falafels. When you book with Shalom Tours make sure you request Mordechai as your guide. You will not be disappointed. We have found the best Tour company in Israel and we are more than happy to recommend them to anyone going on Tour.

Sheppard Family ExperienceJune 15-28, 2015

This was definitely a once in a life time trip. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Our guide, Eli, was amazing. He knew every detail of every place we visited. He offered us unexpected, but much appreciated, detours and extras on our visit. We went at our own pace which was great. We stopped at wonderful little spots for meals and always had breaks when we needed them. The hotels were excellent. The food was plentiful. I can’t say enough great things about our experience in Israel because of Shalom tours. I will recommend Shalom tours to anyone regardless of religious background. They have a guide for everyone’s needs!

Hannah from SpainJune 15-28, 2015

I always use Shalom Israel Tours when I come to Israel and they keep impressing me! Now that I’ve been to a lot of the more standard places they keep coming up with creative and incredible new places in Israel to visit! This time I went to more beautiful beaches with natural grottos and an underground tunnel! I continue to book with Shalom Israel Tours because I know I can trust them with everything down to the smallest detail and that they will WOW me over and over again with great service and awesome tours! Can’t say enough great things about them!

Tichauer FamilyJune 28-July 6, 2015

I want to thank you for ensuring our time in Israel was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived and were greeted at the exit of the airplane until we were delivered to the airport Monday morning, every detail was extremely well thought out. We could not have asked for a better experience. We will make sure to spread you name and company to those who plan to travel to Israel.

Eli was so much more than a tour guide. By the end of the tour we considered him family. He is an amazing person, so caring, thoughtful, anticipating our every need. His knowledge of the country, his patriotism and love of his job is admirable. He not only took us to every place on our itinerary, but included places that he thought should not be missed that were not included on our tour and we so appreciated him!!! Eli’s insight made us really understand what Israel has been through in the past and where Israel is going. His humor made us laugh at just the right moments, as well!

Thank you for making our experience a memory we will treasure for a lifetime!

Mendy DubrowskiJune 23-July 5, 2015

We just completed a 10-day tour with our community. It is our second tour with Shalom Israel Tours and like the first it was truly amazing. This time we brought a group of community members in addition to our 3 children. The program was flexible enough to stimulate and accomodate both groups. That is no easy feat, and is a credit to the creativity and professionalism of Shalom Stark the director of our tour company.

We were also fortunate enough to have a wonderful tour guide, Yoni Berg join us for the trip. Yoni is a unique mixture of americana and Israeli idealist, with a wealth of knowledge about everything Israel. Yoni has the wit and charm to keep you listening to tale after tale, and the patience and sensitivity to handle a mixed group of children and adults.

Together they provided us a memorable journey we will never forget.

Brodsky Family

We had the best time this summer with Shalom Israel Tours! From start to finish, Shalom Stark helped us plan a trip that was geared toward our four children, ages 9-13, but also very enjoyable by the 10 adults, ages 45-73. He arranged a flexible tour that hit as many highlights as possible in our time frame. All airport and hotel pickups and drop-offs by Shalom Tours were on-time, seamless, and incredibly helpful. Everything that was supposed to happen did happen, including any pre-arranged meals, special reservations, and extra days besides the tour days. Hotel locations were wonderful. Our tour guide, Emmanuel Kushner, was a delight! As a former educator, he was perfect for our kids, engaging them at each site and teaching them historical information with a sense of humor. We enjoyed being with him for the long hours on the bus, as well as fun rafting in the Golan, some meals, and any other times we were together. He was sensitive to our need for some separate family time, while he added to the experience whenever we were with him. We highly recommend him for any Israel tourist. Our bus driver, Oded Glazer, deserves special mention for allowing us to break into groups if anyone needed to rest on the air-conditioned bus while others hiked around; for creating easy access to hilly places by dropping off at one location and picking up at another; for purchasing and stowing, at a small price, ice cold water every day for our use; and for his friendly presence with us on the bus during the whole tour. This was a wonderful experience for our family in Israel! Todah rabah!

Wilson FamilyOctober 7-21, 2015

My wife and I experienced Israel in terms of people, places and things and in each section, both physical and spiritual. And, before I forget, let me say Daniel and Maier made a wonderful team. In terms of things, the historical adventures and relics observed were amazing. In terms of places, the locations selected for our touring was wonderful.

In terms of people, the feeling, the energy of the country is fantastic and with Daniel, each place came alive. His very vivid descriptions and historical context was so astoundingly good. He made the people, places and things literally appear before us. He embedded each location with its specialness into our brains. And with Maier as driver, we never felt frightened even though Israeli drivers are “unique” and some roads and paths were steep, rocky and narrow! This was the very best tour experience Lois and I have ever had. We felt so connected.

John & Midge BurnsJune 18-25, 2015

My wife and I have taken tours with many companies and we’ve yet to find one we didn’t like, but our experience with Shalom Israel Tours exceeded any expectations we had entertained.  After our flight we (four adults and a teen) were met by a company representative who guided us through the airport, bypassing long lines at customs, and delivered us to a waiting van.  We were whisked from Tel Aviv to our hotel in Jerusalem and arrived with plenty of time to explore for the rest of the day.

The tour proper started when we met Pitch (Abraham Maayan), our guide, the following morning.  If there are better tour guides in this world, I have yet to meet one.  In spite of his extensive knowledge of history, geography, politics, religion, even food, he is completely unpretentious.  We didn’t get a predetermined mechanical presentation with Pitch; this man carried on a conversation with us.  He was patient when we bombarded him with naive questions, offered advice when it was needed (e.g., he dissuaded me from ascending at Masada without water and a hat), displayed a welcome sense of humor, and carried on without the condescension characteristic of so many guides.  Traveling with Pitch was like traveling with a good friend.  He made all the difference in the world on this trip.

Our accommodations were first rate, Shalom Israel Tours responded quickly to our questions, and they checked with us during our stay in Israel to ensure that we were satisfied and doing well.  I would recommend the company to anyone, especially if they have more guides like Pitch.

Leon KurzweilMay 19 - June 1, 2015

If you’re planning a trip to Israel, this is the tour company to hire.
We started to plan this trip, a full year in advance. Shalom Stark and his team got right on planning an itinerary, with some of my suggestions as to specifics, and within a few days, had a plan to review.
All throughout the year, there was some tweaking and updated itineraries showed up very quickly.
From the moment we landed in Tel Aviv, to the moment we departed, 2 weeks later, the trip was flawlessly enjoyed by all of us.

Every vehicle was appropriately sized for us and our luggage, and our drivers, perfect.
Our Tour guide for 7 full days and several nights was Mordecai Weiss. There is no finer guide in all Israel. His personality meshed perfectly with us and his expertise regarding history made it so much fun to have Mordecai as our guide.

We toured north to south, east to west and made a special trip to Hebron to visit my friend and Chabad Rabbi Danny Cohen. Mordecai and Danny are old friends and we were treated by both, like family members.
I cannot say enough about Shalom Israel Tours. Glitch free, pleasure. They even made dinner reservations for us at several restaurants selected by us, in advance and their suggested restaurants where we had no idea where to eat, were perfect.

This whole trip was a 12 out of 10.
This is a top tier company that you can trust to provide a lifetime of memories.

Stuart LaughtonApril 15-26, 2015

Wendy and I are in our early 60’s, from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. This was our first trip to Israel and Shalom Tours easily exceeded our very high expectations. We want everyone to know that travel in Israel is very safe and that you should feel very, very proud to visit.

We began with a few days in Tel Aviv with tour guide Yaki (large bus), then joined guide Eli Dabi for the remainder of our Classic Israel tour, combining Jewish and Christian heritage sites. Yaki and Eli were superb, with a passion for Israel that made clear that this was more than a job to them.

We got to know Eli very well over the remainder of the tour, and we felt early on that we would be proud to have him as a friend for life (as perhaps we have). My favourite time of the tour wasn’t even scheduled. He asked whether anyone wanted to join him on a pre-dawn hike to see the sun rise over the Sea of Galilee. My photo shows this gorgeous morning, taken from the summit of the historic “Horns of Hattin” (Google it!).
We hope to return to Israel in 8 years to celebrate the country’s 75th anniversary. We’ll be calling Shalom.

Jeff BodieMarch 19 - April 1, 2015

We have just returned from an amazing trip to Israel courtesy of Shalom Stark. Shalom was very patient as we made change after change to our proposed itinerary. We got the perfect trip as a result. Our guides were knowledgeable and made the trip so meaningful and impactful with wonderful, rich details about Israel and its people. We saw so many things and places in such a short time our minds are still assimilating it all. All the pickups and transfers were flawless. There was nothing for us to do but explore, wonder, eat and enjoy.

We would highly recommend Shalom to other Jewish couples seeking the trip of a lifetime to Israel.

Beth MillerMarch 24 - April 4, 2015

We just returned from our family trip to Israel. Shalom helped us to prepare an itinerary that was fun, interesting, meaningful and packed as much as we could into the time that we were there. The plan he made was flawless and every detail was exactly as we expected. Mid-way through the trip, I requested a change that required both a hotel and itinerary change. Shalom did not argue or complain, he simply said, “consider it done,” and made all requested changes within 10 minutes.

Our guide, Eli Dabi, was the highlight of our trip. His passion for his country and his job really showed and he was able to guide us safely and efficiently through our tour. He shared just the right amount of historical facts at each site to satisfy my husband’s desire to learn without boring my kids. He was flexible about stopping for meals, shopping, etc. It was clear that he was willing to do everything in his power to make us happy…and he did!!
Overall, I can not say enough good things about Shalom Tours or Eli Dabi. They, together, made this the best trip my family has ever been on. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Israel.

Jones FamilyFebruary 12-22, 2015

My family recently returned from the 10 Day Jewish Heritage Tour and haven’t stopped raving about it yet. Shalom, the owner, was always easy to communicate with and made sure all was perfect. Our tour guide, Eli Dabi, was not only extremely knowledgeable, but passionate about sharing that knowledge. Eli Dabi brought humor and excitement to our tour.
If given a chance to tour Israel, this is the company and this is the guide.

Mayreis FamilyFebruary 12-22, 2015

The tour guide made the biggest difference in the world. Shalom only uses the best native Israeli guides – who convey the heart and everyday realities of an Israeli to the tourist. To get inside their head is a completely different experience, and very moving- to me, my husband and our 13yr old twins. They verbalized how the guide touched their minds and hearts. Other tours didn’t impact me this way. Also, Shalom is very responsive and helpful with advice & tips to ensure you’re prepared in every detail.

Yay Shalom Stark!

Ken AlexanderApril 15-26, 2015

This our first trip to Israel. Our tour guide, Yaki, was both informative and entertaining. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in Jerusalem. Shalom arranged for Rabbi Mottle Wolf to perform a special ceremony to commemorate this event. Mottle was terrific. (Stuart and Wendy from the previous review participated in this event). Friday night at the Western Wall was something to behold. We would recommend, without reservation, Shalom Israel Tours.

We were on the 10 day Jewish Heritage Tour. It was my wife’s first visit to Israel and my second. The tour was very well organized, enjoyable and interesting. Our guide, Eli Dabi, was knowledgeable, passionate and funny and added much to the experience. Shalom Stark, the tour company owner, is very responsive to questions and needs. Highly recommended!

My son & I just came back from 10 Day Jewish Heritage Trip with Shalom Israel Tour. It was the most interesting, exciting trip we took. Our guide, Eli Dabi, was very energetic & knowledgeable in both Jewish history & theology. We both can’t wait to come back again!!!  I highly recommend this trip & our guide to anyone!

The standard that others should aspire to. I led a group of eight people on a 14 Day adventure through Israel and Jordan. Shalom tours organised the whole trip and what a job they did. Right from the outset they helped craft a unique tour for our group, even making changes we requested before arrival.

Our guide Rabbi Mordecai Weiss was just amazing. His knowledge surpassed other guides I have had in Israel in the past. As a Christian tour we had interests that you would think a Jewish Rabbi would not be helpful on, but this was not the case here. Mordecai was gracious and very caring of our faith, taking us on a journey of discovery through the bible and the land/people of Israel.

Nothing seemed to phase this company. When our domestic flights were canceled due too a sandstorm, a mini van was dispatched to pick us up and drive us five hours to our next destination. Service, that’s what they do, and they do it very well.
There is no question who I will be booking my next tour group with, it will be Shalom Tours. Thanks guys for making this trip so special and painless.

We were a party of eight…parents, two children and two sets of grandparents. Our tour was great from beginning to end. Our guide Meir and our driver, also Meir, did an outstanding job. We were in Jerusalem, Masada, Ramot and Tel Aviv. We had a wonderful experience as our grandson had his bar mitzvah on Masada all arranged by Shalom. I would recommend Shalom and his staff without reservation.

My wife and I did the 15 Jewish Heritage day tour with Shalom Tours. Shalom was very proactive and answered all my questions through email within an hour of my request or comments. This was the best tour we ever had. Our tour guide Doron Hoffman and Yuvel were the very best at what they do. They spoke English quite well and Doron was with us the longest and became a good friend. He even gave me the honor to say the prayers at Mt Scopus upon our arrival in Jerusalem.

We will never forget this experience and we strongly recommend Shalom to anyone who wants to visit the Holy Land.

I recently returned from a two-week trip to Israel with my wife and 2 children (ages 11 and 9). As this was our first trip to the country, I was somewhat apprehensive, but had no security or other concerns whatsoever during the entirety of the trip. Shalom Stark was patient and responsive with all inquiries both prior to departure and subsequent to arrival.

The tour was exceptionally well-organized, and took into account our family’s collective desire for a cultural/heritage experience, while balancing the kids’ needs for relatively unstructured fun. Our tour guide Shimon is a very kind, passionate, and knowledgeable individual, and we will remember our interactions with him forever. I am certain we’ll return to Israel at various points during the future, and I will definitely again utilize the services of Shalom Israel Tours.

I am not sure that I have ever had the opportunity to work with anyone as client-centric as Shalom Stark. From the first point of contact his patience and willingness to answer questions and craft a trip that was personalized to our needs was unparalleled. We went to Israel on at Bat Mitzvah trip for our daughter. We were a group of 10 and needed to accommodate varying ages and interests. Additionally, there were certain places we wanted to go that were not run-of-the-mill. Nothing was a problem for Shalom. When we arrived in Israel, we were whisked through the airport, through customs and on our bus to our hotel in a matter of minutes. EVERYTHING was great, especially our Guide, Yoni.

Yoni was able to relate to all of us..every age and stage. Further, he quickly grasped our sense our humor, sarcasm and sensitivities. His encyclopedic knowleged of history and literature made learning about the sites more than just a lecture on what we were looking at. After touring with him for a week, upon departing, we felt that we were leaving a friend.

I am not sure I can say enough good this about our experience, with Shalom, with Yoni, with EVERYTHING from logistics, to entrance feels to activities chosen by us and recommended by Shalom.

We will definitely use Shalom Israel Tour for our next trip., and, of course, we will request of have Yoni as our guide.

I did not do the booking for Shalom Tours, but I was assured that they would do a good job. They did not do a good job. They did a great job. They put together a wonderful itinerary that allowed our family group to get a real taste of Israel and do a wonderful Bar Mitzvah for my grandson at the Wall. From Tel Aviv to the Golan Heights, to Jerusalem we saw a great array of important sites relevant to the history of Israel. But most importantly, we had Mottle as our leader and educator. I will not call him a guide because he is much more. He is a rabbi, a story teller, a sage and seer, if you will. He knows his Israeli history and shares it with the group. He had worked with two family members last year so he knew them and quickly became friends with the rest of us. We had a bit of a medical crisis towards the end of the tour and he was with the problem every step of the way. He took us to rooftops to see great sights in both Hebron and Jerusalem. He walked the Shuk market with me and my wife so we could buy gifts.

Oh, Shalom Tours made leaving Ben Gurion Airport a breeze, and the return also to Tel Aviv went without a hitch. Shalom arranged for terrific drivers throughout the trip and a very good guide in Tel Aviv for one day. Too much to say, but it was a wonderful experience made great by the knowledge and expertise of Shalom Tours and their staff. A special shout out, of course, goes to our leader, Mottle Wolfe.

Thank you, Shalom Tours for a wonderful, meaningful tour of the Land of Judea.

Shalom tours was great to work with. They were very accommodating to our needs, and created a personalized itinerary that was exactly what we wanted. Our guide was American and very knowledgeable about Israel and its vast history. Our family had a wonderful time and had an experience of a lifetime. The hotels we stayed in were very nice, clean, courteous staff and included breakfast and dinner, and we were on our own for lunch. I would highly recommend Shalom Tours to anyone who would like an amazing experience based on their personal taste, without the hassle of buses and extra tourists.

Just returned from the vacation of a lifetime thanks to Shalom Tours and our sensational guide Aharon Yahav. From beginning to end it was perfect. Our guide Aharon was knowledgeable, smart, funny and organized. He helped make this trip meaningful and memorable. The tour was brilliantly structured and well organized. From beginning to end, Aharon made sure we arrived on time, educated and excited to see what awaited us. His enthusiasm and apparent love of his country was contagious.

Shalom Tours not only met but exceeded by expectations. I have traveled extensively and taken tours in many countries, with groups and privately. This Jewish Heritage Tour ranked on the top of my list.

I heartily endorse Shalom Tours and am recommending them to all my friends. I envy those persons who will get to experience Israel for the first time with Shalom and Aharon.

Shalom Israel Tours is amazing! Shalom was very responsive prior to the trip by answering emails promptly. As far as the trip goes, my husband and I lucked out, because we essentially had a private tour (without actually paying for one). Only one other person was on the tour with us. We had an amazing guide (through Rent a Guide)- Jacky Maayan. He was very knowledgable and happy to answer ANY questions we had.. Including recent things related to Israel.

Everything was executed perfectly.. From the hotel pick ups to the tours and sites and even the drivers to and from the airport. Shalom Israel Tours had it under control! They even sent us a nice bakery basket on Shabbat in Jerusalem. I definitely felt like we were taken care of from the second we got off the plane to being dropped back at the airport. I had read reviews on Trip Advisor prior to coming, and wondered how the group could be rated so highly. Now I understand, because it was truly an amazing tour and experience. I would highly recommend to anyone! You will not regret it! 🙂

We recently returned from Eretz Yisrael on the Jewish Heritage Tour and enjoyed every moment. We traveled the entire country over a two week period and Meni and Eli’s passion and knowledge made this the trip of a lifetime. We were so excited to start each day with Israel’s amazing breakfasts and looked forward to what was ahead of us ! And packed they were ! We met wonderful people on our tour who became our travelling family. Whatever tension that was present while we were there, we never ever felt unsafe. Our safety was first and foremost with the tour guides. This was a great way to see all of Israel in a short period of time and get a taste of the country. Thank you Shalom, Meni and Eli for all that you did – you’re the best !

Touring Israel with Shalom Israel Tours last July was an amazing, life-changing experience. Yes, my husband and I were there during the conflict, and we learned first-hand the commitment of the Israeli people. Our perspective of life in the Middle East is forever changed. We could not have chosen a better tour than Shalom Israel. We visited every scheduled site, and in fact, we even opted to go to Bethlehem across the border. At no time did we feel threatened or apprehensive about our surroundings. Our guide always kept us apprised of what was happening and allayed our concerns in a very sympathetic and honest manner. “This is life in Israel.” Shalom Stark himself was always a phone call away if we wanted information or needed anything at all.

It is an excellent tour in terms of organization, scheduling, accommodations, etc. One of the best parts was our guide, Eli Dabi, an incredibly personable and knowledgeable man who was especially good with the children on our tour. For those two weeks, the people on the tour became a family, thanks to him.
If you want to get to know Israel, not just see it, go with Shalom Tours; you will not be sorry. I urge everyone not to miss the experience of learning about this amazing land, its diverse people, history and future.

My husband and I just got back from the Jewish Heritage tour. It was such a wonderful trip!
Shalom Israel tours are wonderful. Shalom is great to deal with. He answered all my questions very quickly. He must stay up all night answering emails because no matter what time I emailed him, he always replied quickly.

Our tour guide, Eli, was great. He had such energy, was so knowledgeable and has such a love for Israel. He was very caring of all the people on the tour and went out of his way for us. On Friday, after the tour was over, he dropped everyone off at their hotels and then walked back to pick up anyone who wanted to go to the Western Wall for Shabbat. Eli really made the tour for us — we are still talking about him.We chose the Dan Panorama hotels in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Shalom’s recommendation, and they were great.

In Tel Aviv the hotel is in the perfect location, we were able to watch the sunset on the water from our balcony and it was close to everything. In Jerusalem, we could walk anywhere from the hotel. The Hotel Lavi in the kibbutz that everyone stayed in was disappointing. I realize it is a kibbutz, but the hotel is old, the rooms dreary and the food mediocre. Of course, we have great memories of the kibbutz because of Eli the tour guide, who gathered anyone who wanted to join him at 5 am for a walk to see the sunrise –it was beautiful –and a lovely walk seeing all the cows grazing so early in the morning. All in all, definitely book with Shalom Israel, It’s a memorable tour with the nicest, most caring people.

My wife and I took a private 10 day tour of Israel arranged through Shalom Israel Tours. In one word, fantastic. All of the logistics were great (the welcome and zipping through the airport was particularly impressive). Our guide, Daniel Guttman, was unbelievably good. Not only extremely knowledgeable about the history of the areas (archeological, historical, biblical, political) we visited but was just a good guy and a pleasure to deal with.

From the original e-mail query to Shalom Tours, Shalom and Yoel answered all our questions and helped us plan the ideal tour. And we were not easy but they took our requests in stride and made many of their own which resulted in a great itinerary. They even reassured us during the Gaza strife over the summer that we would be OK. It was also good to know that Daniel checked before we went to any site where there could potentially be a problem (e.g., Temple Mount, Golan Heights) to make sure it would be safe.

Bottom line, if you are going to Israel and want to plan the trip of a lifetime, you can’t go wrong with Shalom Israel Tours. Just an A++

I will be shouting it from the rooftops how wonderful Shalom Israel Tours is, because I wouldn’t want anyone to be deprived of the wonderful experience my family had. From the very beginning to the end of the trip, the entire process of planning the trip, to being on the trip, to going home was seamless. Yoel and Shalom are excellent to work with. They provided such a personalized and unique trip experience and they also always responded to my emails right away.

My family of 4 went to Israel for 10 days (My parents, brother and myself) and we did SO much in that time, but at our own pace. Shalom Israel Tours was trustworthy with their planning, recommendations and anticipated each and every need we had. The itinerary met the needs of my family, who didn’t want to do hiking and jeeping type things but more of a comprehensive tour of Israel and seeing Jewish Heritage Sites. Shalom Israel Tours tailored our itinerary accordingly and it was AMAZING for everyone.

Our guide, Mordechai Weiss was unbelievable. Not only is he a very knowledgable man but he is so kind and warm and patient. He made everyone feel so comfortable and went the extra mile to provide us with a very special experience. He always made sure that we had enough to drink and had as many bathroom breaks as we needed and pointed us to good lunch spots through our trip. At the end of the trip when I wasn’t feeling well, he got me what I needed and made sure that I was ok. He knew everyone wherever we went and helped us to navigate a place that was foreign to my family. Besides being the most knowledgeable guide, Mordechai is the most pleasant person to spend time with and we genuinely miss him. By the end of the trip, we truly felt that Mordechai was part of our family.

I would not look elsewhere when planning a trip to Israel. Shalom Israel Tours is a company that will make your family, friends or whomever you are planning a trip with feel special and like a VIP. They are genuinely nice people and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need through the entire trip. Highly recommend! I would give it 10 stars if I could:)

My wife and I just returned from a 12 day private tour through Shalom Tours. From the minute we contacted Shalom Stark to plan our trip to the time we arrived home everything was perfect. With the recent war in Israel, we debated canceling the trip. Thank goodness we went. Never felt any fear or anxiety. We felt at home. We were so welcomed by everyone. “Thank you for coming”
Planning the trip was so easy. I called Shalom and he asked a few questions regarding what we were looking for. He mailed me an Itinerary within hours. We played with some minor issues and everything was set. The company kept us updated on issues in Israel prior to our arrival.

Everything went as planned. VIP arrival went so smoothly. From deplaning to the car in the airport took at most 15 minutes. Arrived at David Intercontinental in Tel Aviv Our room got upgraded. Great hotel and location. The following morning, we were met by our guide Shimon. Little did we know how fortunate we were to meet him. Spent the next 10 days with him. Spent 2 days in Tel aviv then worked our way up north . After touring many sites up the coast we arrived at Ramot Resort. Gorgeous Hotel. Spent the next 3 days touring the north. To both the Lebanon and Syrian border and many historic sites At each of the sites, Shimon linked the actual site to history and biblical relevance. We were building a puzzle to put much of the story together. After the North , we traveled down the east thru Judea-Someria Incredible sites. Arrived in Jerusalem on Friday afternoon at 3 pm in time to see the Old city from Mount of Olives then to the Shuk. Incredible before Shabbot. Checked into the Inbal Hotel Gorgeous hotel Great location. The next 6 days we spent time in the old city, West Jerusalem Judea-Someria and down as far south as Masada/ Dead Sea.

During our trip We got 3 calls from Shalom to make sure all was meeting our expectations. We had his cell number told to call 24/7 if any questions arose. You don’t get this personal touch from many tour companies. Too bad I can’t rank Shalom Tours and Shimon with 6 stars!!

Would Highly recommend this tour company especially for first timers to Israel

This summer, in early July, my wife and I – along with our 10 year old and 7 year old — took a great tour of Israel, planned through Shalom and using one of Shalom’s guides for 6-7 days. We had a fabulous time…the logistics were super smooth, the guide was very knowledgable, very smart and was great with our kids….making the trip a memorable one and an important one for their Jewish education going forward! We’re so happy we had such a great time and learned so much on our first family trip to Israel — and our children’s first time there ever! Kudos to Shalom and we thoroughly recommend their services!

We just returned from a 13 day trip to Israel with a group of friends. We decided to show our support and go no matter what the news was reporting. We made the right decision. Shalom designed the best itinerary based on the information that we provided. He then gave us Shimon as our guide. It was a perfect match and a perfect trip. From the time we arrived in Israel until the day we departed, everything was taken care of. I encourage everyone to go to Israel, contact Shalom Tours and ask for Shimon. Our heart and soul belong to Israel.

Shalom Israel Tours is the best. I have been on two of Shalom’s tours and will not go with anyone else. The best guide is Mordechai Weiss. He is awesome, when you go ask for him.

We booked a tour through Shalom and had the time of our lives! Shalom helped us design a custom visit over several days with a side trip to Petra. Our guide, Yehuda, was a great match to me and my husband. There were no surprises except good ones and the trip was excellent. When we had questions, Shalom was right on top of everything. This was a once in a lifetime trip, do yourself a favor and put yourself in the hands of Shalom!

Ettleman FamilyMarch 24 - 31, 2014

We had only 8 days in Israel. While my husband had been there a few times before, it was my first time, and I wanted to see as much as possible in the short time we had, so I contacted Shalom to help us plan/put together the perfect itinerary.

He suggested an itinerary and was beyond patient with us as our friends and family also gave input. He took everything into account and came up with the PERFECT plan to visit the Golan Heights, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and left room to add or change things once we were there. Shalom arranged the hotels for us (except for one which we did on our own since we were using points) and suggested restaurants and activities to do for when we were on our own.

We were treated as VIPs from the second we stepped off the airplane (yes, we were greeted right off the airplane, not even after going through customs) through the end of the trip.

Our tour guide Yehuda got to know us well, and often suggested “just one more stop because you’ll love it.” – and it was ALWAYS worth it when he did!

Shalom kept both our interests and budget in mind and created a vacation that will forever be so special to my husband and me. We could not have asked for a better tour company to organize and better tour guide to show us around.

We have already suggested Shalom and Yehuda to everyone who even mentions thinking of going to Israel, whether it’s their first time or hundredth!

This was the trip of a life time. We had a private tour with Yuval Sharon for our family of 5 and it was amazing! Yuval was incredible. Shalom arranged all the details from large to small and everything was first class. Our children were 9, 11, and 14 and we visited many sites all around Israel, stayed in 3 hotels for 10 nights. There was a political situation that was problematic that did not impact our trip at all. You only knew about it if you read the newspaper– so I recommend not reading the newspaper while there. Favorite sites: archeological dig, chocolate factory, dead sea, old city of Jerusalem, Roman ruins, Masada, and many , many more! Thank you Shalom.

We spent 7 days traveling Israel with a guide named Meir Shalom. This was a fantastic private guide who was accommodating to whatever we wanted to do. He was knowledgeable, informative and flexible to accommodate our interests. We visited Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Masada, Haifa, and more. Meir Shalom was very knowledgeable and informative about the history of events. He gave both a secular perspective but was knowledgeable about all religious perspectives. Meir was humorous and easy to going but would go all day or take you back to the hotel if we were tired. He would start as early as we wanted and work as late as we wanted. You could not find a more accommodating, knowledgeable guide in the business.

Having returned to the U.K. after having a fantastic holiday visiting Israel I feel I must write congratulating Meni Tzabari, our tour guide. He was exceptional in every way: He was so knowledgeable and made it his business to ensure we all understood all he was explaining to us – he had the patience of a Saint! My wife & I were part of a group of about 37 people and I can safely say that without exception we all were not only awe-struck with the country, also with Meni who had such a wit he kept us all amused as well as informed the whole time. My wife has hip and knee problems so she was not able to walk very fast – Meni allowed for this in a very understanding way. Also Atif, the coach driver was so helpful, he stopped where we got off the coach in such a way that there was a high curb (where possible) to allow my wife to get off the coach comfortably – he also was so understanding. All in all, Meni was an exceptional, friendly and professional guide who did your company proud. We holidayed for 2 weeks and spent the next recovering from the hectic but thorough tour.

If anybody has a chance of choosing their guide – Meni is the man!!!

Lisa S.June 2014

My mom, step-father, two sons (14 and 12) and I went on the Shalom Jewish Heritage Tour and were so fortunate to be part of a larger group led by tour guide, Meni Tzabari. Meni is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Israel, and shared his love of this beautiful country with humor and fun. He added ‘surprise’ visits to our itinerary, while making sure we had plenty of time at each place. He was amazing at keeping our group together, and by the end of 12 days, we felt like a family!

Although we had only planned to have the trip itself serve as a bar mitzvah for both of my sons, Meni offered to conduct a bar mitzvah for my 14 year old son, Jonah, at the Western Wall (on the day of my mom’s birthday!). It was an incredible and moving experience for all of us. Thank you Meni and Meni’s Group for a trip of a lifetime!

My family and I just returned from a 10 day Jewish Heritage tour and we had a great time. Shalom Israel did a terrific time with booking and itinerary. The schedule was on point! I can not say enough great things about our guide, Meni Tzabari. You can feel the love, passion and dedication he has for his country. He is charming, knowledgable and funny. He is truly a professional tour guide. I would highly recommend Shalom and Meni if traveling to Israel!

Just finished a 6 day Jewish Heritage Tour with Shalom Israel Tours and it was wonderful on all accounts. My family and I recently had an 8 day guided tour of Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee area, the Jordan Valley, Jerusalem holy sites, Masada and Dead Sea among other sites in Israel. Our guide, Meni Tzabari, was completely dedicated to ensuring we had as great an experience as possible. He was personable, well informed, sensitive to religious and cultural views, and engaging with my entire family, particularly, my 18 and 20 year old kids, who loved him. Traveling with Meni in Israel affords so much more than expected because of his extensive knowledge and connections. There was not a place we went where Meni was not welcomed by the locals with open arms. His devotion to building relationships serves his customers very well.

On our recent trip to Israel we were guided and escorted by Yehuda Leket. He traveled with us through Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, and Tel Aviv. He was delightfully informative and expert in every aspect of our visit. He was attentive to our needs and aware of the topics of interest to us. In Jerusalem, to Masada, to Haifa, Akko, Capernaum, Tzfat, Nazareth, Through the Golan Heights, Caesarea, the Old Jaffa Port in Tel Aviv and more. The guide really makes the trip come alive. I would recommend using Yehuda as a guide to anyone planning such an excursion. We had a wonderful time.

WE just returned from our 2 week private tour of Israel and Petra with 1 other couple. It was perfect! Dealing with Shalom Stark was what made it easy and amazing. He is always accessible via email or phone and truly interested in making our first Israel trip the best experience possible. Last minute the tour guide who was scheduled became sick and Shalom was able to book MEIR SHALOM. He made our trip. He went above and beyond the itinerary !!!! He is the best guide we have ever had!!!!! Request him as your guide if it is possible. The hotels were great, the tours arranged to perfection and superb timing, and the flights within Israel as well as the the door to door service made this an exciting, yet no worries trip.

Shalom Tours had the key that unlocked my heart!!! I had researched many companies and even questioned whether doing an organized tour was right for us. I was with a friend (2 girls in our 30″s) we signed up for the Jewish 10 day Heritage Tour in April 2014. So many unknowns as to who would be in our group and how many travelers. We ended up with 15 total and they became my Israel Family! Shalom Tours used a guide through Rent-a-Guide who was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The personal touch that he added to my Israel experience will never be forgotten. I never expected to learn SO much with such enthusiasm. Shalom Tours never let us down, from the prompt easy transport at the airport to all hotels being handled. It was the easiest planned vacation I have ever been on….and I’m not one for organized tours. All my hesitations were put to rest as this could not have been any smoother. Shalom was the most cost effective way to see Israel and worth every penny! Book them , I promise you will not be disappointed. If you get as lucky as we did with our guide, Meni you will get an extra bonus. Enjoy the State of Magic!!! I have a new favorite destination for SURE!!! Safe Travels 🙂

From Start to finish this was AMAZING!!!! My daughter and I did the 9 day classic tour. It gave us such a great overview of Israel-you hit all the important sites- and it makes you hungry for more! This is truly a beautiful country. Tomar (our tour guide) was funny and charming! His information made the history come alive before us. Wonderful people from all over the world were also in our tour group making it even more interesting! Favorite parts were the Dead sea, Masada, the Western Wall, Bethlehem, and watching the Sabbath start on the beach in Tel Aviv – sunsets are simply stunning! This is how all tour groups should be! Every detail is taking care of- all you need to do is enjoy. Thank you so much, Shalom, for the trip of a lifetime! I will be back – with the rest of my family!

We went on the Jewish Heritage Tour which was in a word, “amazing,” Since I had been to Israel twice, I wanted something different than exploring the Christian Holy Lands again.. With the Jewish Heritage Tour, you learn about Israel’s ancient and modern day history including the problems that the country now faces. Our guide Eli Dabi, was passionate about his country and was able to make the tour very meaningful for all of us. He played the shofar when we first entered Jerusalem which created many “goose bumps.” Dabi with his knowledge and passion made every day an exciting day of discovery. Shalom tour company had us stay in first class hotels centrally located so that we could walk to many interesting places. The tour company was accommodating and well run. I give the tour, the guide and the company a BIG thumbs up! Well Done!!

We just returned from a fabulous Shalom Israel 10-day tour of Jewish and Christian sites in Israel. My wife and I travel independently and this was our first tour with a group, so we were apprehensive. Now I would say there is no better way to see Israel and become familiar with the country, its peoples, its accomplishments, and its problems. Our group was small (15-18) and our guide, Elon Cohen, was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing and open with his thoughts, responsive to our questions and individual needs. The sites chosen to visit and the timing and pace made it an incredible experience. We are still reliving each moment and place and the tour has stimulated our interest in reading more history related to what we saw. Shalom Stark runs a first-class operation: the airport pick-ups were smooth and without glitches, the hotels were in terrific locations (Tel Aviv by the ocean and an easy walk to Jerusalem’s Old City) and had breakfasts not to be believed. We were touched by the Sabbath tray of goodies and, in general, felt well taken care of compared to stories we heard from others on different tours. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough.

My husband and I have just returned from a 5 day trip to Israel and we thought it would be unforgivable not to inform other travelers how great this experience was thanks to Shalom Israel Day Tours.
Firstly, we received great support from Shalom Stark right from the beginning when planning the trip. You can imagine how hard it can be to fit all the important sights into a 5 day itinerary but Shalom seemed to be prepared for all of the challenges we could think of. As a result we ended up with a wonderful, well balanced and yet not too exhausting plan that we happily realized.
Our guide Mordechai, who was with us all this time, proved to be a great companion and an endless source of knowledge about all places we visited. We had lots of fun discussing culture, politics, art and everything of greater and smaller relevance. He had an excellent ability to adjust to our individual interests and needs and not to overwhelm us with dry facts and figures. We simply cannot think of a better guide!
As to the travel arrangements, everything was spotless: pick ups, hotel and attraction reservations, restaurant recommendations, etc.
All in all, thank you – Shalom and Mordechai. You made it all really unforgettable!

My experience with Shalom Stark Tours was flawless from my initial inquiry into their services to the end of the tour. Shalom’s insights into the history and culture of Israel were invaluable in helping us appreciate Israel. His recommendations of attractions and things to do were extremely helpful in making our trip that much more special. Start to finish the trip was perfect.

If you go to Israel and do not use Shalom you are making a BIG mistake. We had a family trip of 12 people, in honor of my grandson’s Bar Mitzvah. From the moment we got off of the airplane to the time we had to return, everything went perfect. At our first hotel Shalom was there to personally greet us. Every hotel that they suggested was great in every way. The rooms were spacious, food was good, and the service was friendly.
The Mercedes van that was our transportation, was first class.
The itinerary was fantastic. My wife and myself had been to Israel before, but seeing it through the eyes of Shalom Tours was like being there for the first time.
My daughter made several changes to the itinerary along the way, and Shalom was always flexible to our needs.
We were in Tel Aviv on New Years Eve, and we realized we were not about to find a restaurant to accommodate all of us. With one phone call to Shalom our situation was resolved. Somehow he was able to get us into a very good restaurant, and it was a great way to end a fantastic trip.
There is nothing that Shalom Tours missed on our behalf, including having sunshine everyday during their rainy season. Now that is service above and beyond!

Shalom Tours and Shalom Stark are top notch in every way. They provided us with the trip of our lifetime and not once was there anything that could be improved upon. Every second was perfect. Shalom listened to us before we came and then he more than surpassed our expectations. It was magical and no words can express our joy, delight and total appreciation. Our guide was a true gift to us. We traveled with 12 people and not one person had any complaint. That is a miracle.

Many thanks to Shalom Israel Day Tours, it made the whole experience of Israel memorable and hassle free. From the time we arrived at Ben Gurion airport when we had a VIP welcome to the extensive tour of almost all significant places of Israel with effective guides to the transfer back to the airport for departure, Shalom was really efficient and the service they provided is really worth all the money you paid!

I felt that Shalom Tours, made my trip very exciting, on time for all scheduled tour sites, beautiful hotels, great food, friendly people, awesome and spiritual places. I learned so much from our wonderful tour guide. He was so informative, funny, always courteous, polite and patient. Everything was on time, and there were days of relaxation too. So glad I went through Shalom Tours. I have already referred them to interested friends. Thanks Shalom.

We just returned from our trip, and I cannot say enough about our experience. It started with an email to Shalom Stark asking for assistance in putting together a trip tailored to us. I promptly received a suggested itinerary.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was wonderful. Our guide Shimon was wonderful beyond words, adding layers to our trip that are hard to put into words. Thank you Shalom for putting us together – it was a wonderful match!
Our accommodations met and exceeded expectations. Airport transfers were seamless. Shalom was always checking in to see how we were doing, and to see if we needed anything. – Todah Rabah! We hope to see you again, soon!!

This was our first trip to Israel and we were a little worried because of what you hear in the news. Don’t believe any of it. 4&5 year old children walk to school alone, women jog in the park alone at midnight, everyone is so friendly and talk to you. You see soldiers (18-20 year olds) walking around with weapons, but the difference is, everyone has them but no one uses them. You feel like you are part of one big family:) Shalom Israel Tours are THE BEST! From the driver picking us up at the airport to dropping us back off at the airport 2 weeks later the tour was not only flawless, but above and beyond. There were a total of 9 people on our tour and our guide Jacky Maayan was so personable and funny I can’t praise him enough. At the end of each day when we got back to our hotels everyone gave him a round of applause. We liked everything, but the 3 highlights were The Wailing Wall, The Wailing Wall and the Wailing Wall. (when your there you’ll understand) We have been to many country and had many tours, but I can honestly say this was not only the best vacation of our lives, but also the best experience of our lives!!!

Sietz FamilyJuly 24 - August 7, 2013

Now that we’ve been home for two weeks, all we can do is talk about our amazing trip to Israel after an absence of 36 years. Dealing with Shalom Stark was fantastic. Any questions I had about the tour, and I had a lot, were answered promptly. We were skeptical about sending money to a total stranger, and a company we had never heard of, but read good reports on Trip Advisor. After arriving at the airport, greeted by a lovely gentleman who held up a sign with our name, then driven to our hotel by a very informative driver, we quickly put our fears to rest. Everything was going so smoothly and continued to get better and better. When our friends ask us “what was the best part about your trip?”, we continue to say “Everything!”. Our group of 13 on our bus quickly turned into a family and everyone got along so well. Starting off with Yuval, who guided us for two days in Tel Aviv, we thought, “does it get any better?” and then along comes Eli Dabby, our next tour guide. By the end of our tour, Eli was not only our dear friend, but he became part of our family. We laughed, we cried (when we had to say goodbye at the end of the tour), we learned so much about Israel, and are already planning our next trip back because it was the most incredible three weeks we’ve ever had on a trip. Our final tour guide was Jacky, and he, too, was so personable, knowledgeable, and told jokes the whole trip. Rent-a-Guide has the most incredible guides that really make the touring fantastic.

We finally met up with Shalom at the end of our tour and were so impressed with him and his company. We would highly recommend this tour company to anyone who wants to have the most pleasurable, non stressful, informative, exciting trip to Israel.

When our tour was over, and we had some extra time to ourselves in Jerusalem, Eli called us and came to spend an evening with us. Eli is not only passionate about Israel, but is such a caring, knowledgeable, funny man. He loves his job and you can tell. He called our group the Dream Team because of how quickly we all connected, did everything he asked us to, were always ready on time for the morning pick up, and made him laugh. We even had a sing song on the final journey home to Jerusalem to end the trip and then cried when we had to say goodbye. All in all, we can’t stop talking about this trip and thanks to Shalom Israel Tours, we will always remember Israel in the most positive way. Thank you thank you thank you!

I just returned from a 2 week customized bar mitzvah tour for a family of 12, ranging in age from 9 to 75. I wholeheartedly agree with all of the previous glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, as my experience before, during, and after the trip was truly excellent. Shalom Stark managed to put together a fabulous trip itinerary, despite a wide range of ages and interests. Most importantly, he was there when we truly needed him. There were a few unplanned bumpy moments and Shalom went above and beyond our expectations to solve any issues, even though these were never any fault of his own. He made us feel relaxed and taken care of, so we could enjoy the wonderful itinerary. For example, my father in law needed help securing a different seat assignment with El Al on our return flight, due to a medical concern. We tried working with El Al on our own, without success. One phone call to Shalom, and he got us the seat assignment we needed. This is but one of several examples of Shalom going above and beyond to help our family.

When booking a bar mitzvah trip to Israel, one has an incredible variety of choices. I almost chose a USA based company for our tour, but in the end Shalom won me over with his professionalism, patience, warmth, and let’s not forget– a fair price. For those of you considering a USA based company: keep in mind how incredibly important it is to have an Israeli based contact, who can help you in real time as the need arises. Shalom has the perfect combination of an American orientation toward customer service mixed with the Israeli sense of urgency and a “get the job done” attitude. I especially appreciated that I was dealing directly with Shalom, and never had to play phone tag or work with an intermediary.

If my daughter decides she wants to have her bat mitzvah in Israel in 3 years I will definitely chose Shalom Israel Tours.

My family and I just returned from an excellent 14 day, custom designed trip in Israel. From start to finish, Shalom did an excellent job. Our family likes adventure so our trip included rappelling into caves, jeep tours, zip lines and many other activities mixed in with more traditional events and venues. The balance was perfect to keep our 3 kids (10, 14 & 16) excited throughout. We strongly recommend Shalom Israel tours. We also wanted to give specific thanks to our personal guide, Shimon, who showed us the real Israel.

Elaine SimonJune 28, 2013 - July 7, 2013

We just did the 10 day Jewish Heritage tour and we are so happy that we booked with Shalom. I called numerous times with so many questions and each time Shalom was so patient and always spent time to explain everything to me. There was 4 in our group and upon arrival to the hotel we only received a welcome package for 2. I could not believe it when Shalom personally showed up at the first bus stop to hand me a package for the other 2. Now that is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Our tour guide Jonathan was so knowledgeable and passionate. My daughter found Shalom on the internet and insisted we go with his tour company instead of dealing with the travel agency. Not only did we have a better tour package but it was a few thousand dollars cheaper. Coming from NY originally, I was a little skeptical, but after doing lots of research I decided to take a chance with Shalom Tours. I can’t say enough what a great company this is. You will not find the kind of service Shalom gives you any where else. He is OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Goldman FamilyJune 23rd - July 8th, 2013

My family of 6 did a private tour of Israel for 2 weeks with Shalom Israel Tours. Our traveling party consisted of a 4 year old and a 90 year old. Shalom was able to put together a comprehensive tour that accommodated everyone in the group. We visited all the usual sites plus enjoyed a lazy raft ride down the Jordan river, explored a real archaeological dig site, and rode camels. We made a few last minute changes to the schedule and without any hassle, Shalom simply took care of the necessary changes. We had an amazing time, made memories to last a lifetime, and are already discussing our next trip to Israel. The customer service with Shalom and his crew is outstanding! You simply can’t go wrong by choosing to tour with Shalom Israel Tours. We highly recommend the company and will use them on our next visit.

Our family just returned from Israel where we celebrated my granddaughter’s Bat Mitzvah. It was a trip of a lifetime. Shalom planned a kid friendly tour for our 13 and 15 year olds. We toured Jerusalem for 5 days and then went to the north where we stayed at a Kibbutz. Our tour guide Mordechai was a wealth of information, friendly and lots of fun to spend the days with. Shalom oversaw every aspect of our family of sevens trip.  He continually called to see if everything was going well and if we wanted to make any changes to the itinerary. The Bat Mitzvah on Masada with baking of the bread to three musicians playing were great. Shalom organized every detail to perfection. I would highly recommend his company when planning a trip to Israel.

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day private tour arranged by Shalom Israel Tours. Since ts was our first time in Israel, and not knowing exactly what to do and see, we used the basic tour which we modified for our interests. Shalom Stark was very responsive to all of our many e-mail and phone requests, at all hours of the day.Upon arriving at Tel Aviv we were given the VIP treatment expedited through the airport, passport control and baggage. Since our bags were still at the airport in NY, our efficient guide took care of all of the baggage claim paperwork. We were taken to the exit where a driver was waiting to take us to our hotel in Jerusalem. Upon checking in at the hotel, we heard from Shalom that the bags would be on the next flight out. Wow…what service.

The next day we met our guide Shimon who took the best care of us for the next 6 days, explaining the history and philosophy connected with the areas. He was most informative and interesting with a good sense of humor and we were delighted to have him as our leader. Shalom had arranged for reservations at the upgraded hotels, sites and shows that we wanted so we never had to wait on lines which made the entire tour easy and most interesting.

We would recommend Shalom Israel Tours to anyone who is planning a visit to Israel and also using Shimon for the classical details of the history and people of the land. They are the best.

In one simple word to describe our trip…AMAZING!!! My son Michael and I recently returned from our trip to Israel and it was spectacular. We opted for the 12 Day Jewish Heritage Tour and our expectations were met exponentially. It was my first visit to the Promised Land…a life long dream that I was finally able to experience and it was certainly worth the wait. My son was fortunate to visit Israel five years ago through Birthright and was eager to return. So for me to make this trip with my son was priceless. We were extremely fortunate and lucky to have Meni as our tour guide. He was simply…THE BEST!! His knowledge of everything Israel is unmatched. He was so receptive to the needs and aspirations of the group and he would go out of his way to share his wealth of Israeli history and facts with us. His insight into Israel, its people, its government, the land all contributed to a wonderful experience for my son and I. I highly recommend for anyone touring Israel to specifically request Meni as their tour guide. You will not be disappointed. My only regret was not visiting Eilat. But perhaps if I return someday I will see Eilat. Shalom Stark and Shalom Tours were incredibly helpful and responsive for any questions or concerns I had during the planning stages of our trip. Any issues we had were answered promptly and to our complete satisfaction. His professionalism was awesome.

THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW WONDERFUL MY TRIP WAS THANKS TO SHALOM. I would rate his company with 10 stars if I could! It was the most wonderful trip of my lifetime. I spent 6 months or more planning this trip and Shalom was incredibly attentive and responsive. I honestly think he must have answered hundreds of email questions from me as well as spoke to me on the phone several times. I searched for many many different travel companies to plan my trip and his company was literally the only one that I got response from. He was able to give me sage advise on how to plan my trip and to come up with a meld of touring and down time. I was traveling with my 6 year old, my 8 year old, my wife and my 80 year old mother-in-law and Shalom was able to craft my trip in a perfect way. He booked my VIP entrance in Israel, my hotels in Tel Aviv, the southern Galilee and in Jerusalem, my rental car, Tower of David light show, two days of a private tour guide in Jerusalem, my Dead Sea/Mosada Group tour, and my exit. Any email question that i ever asked him, no matter how mundane, was attended to with exquisite detail. He even gave me his personal cell phone number to use in Israel in case of emergency. His website is absolutely incredible. I was able to find the Shabbat for a Lifetime program on his website which allowed me to experience a truly special Shabbat experience at the Kotel and a Shabbat dinner at a host’s home in Jerusalem. STOP YOUR SEARCH FOR TOUR COMPANIES NOW AND CALL SHALOM STARK IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE RECOMMENDED HIM TO ALL MY FRIENDS AT MY TEMPLE. YOU WILL HAVE THE TRIP OF YOUR LIFE TIME.

We selected Shalom Israel tours on the high recommendations from members of our community who toured with Shalom Tours as a group last year. Our 13 days were as wonderful as it could be. Our driver/guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and he coalesced our group of strangers into a family of travelers, beyond expectations. We gained much insight beyond your typical tour. My wife and I, in our 70’s, were the eldest of the group, and when were unable to take on one of the challenges offered the younger adults, accommodation was made so that we could participate in everything. Aside from overeating, everything on this tour was perfection. We could not have asked for more.

Rajagopalan FamilyFebruary 22 - March 3, 2013

My wife & I are both in our seventies booked the Jewish Heritage tour offered by Shalom. From our arrival to our departure 12 days later Shalom tours made our trip enjoyable and stress free. The tour guides were highly qualified and the tour itinerary covered everything that we had dreamed of visiting. The choice of hotels was excellent and we did not have any difficulty in finding vegetarian food. This is a very professional tour company which anticipates every customer need. On the whole an enjoyable hassle free magical experience, thanks to Mr Shalom Stark & Shalom Tours.

I wish I could give Shalom Israel Tours 10 stars. Our trip was somewhat last minute so we did not have much time to plan. Shalom Stark provided superior service and made everything so easy for us. The hotels and tours were first class. We did a combination of group and private tours, and the drivers and tour guides were outstanding. Shalom truly made our trip one of the most memorable ever. We are already planning our next trip to Israel with Shalom Israel Tours!

Segal FamilyFebruary 16-24, 2013

We had a magical experience. Shimon, our guide, was encyclopedic, energetic and an overall joy. He could simultaneously captivate the adults and children alike. Shalom runs a classy operation from A to Z. The best part, as others have noted, is his incredible flexibility. We changed plans back and forth countless times and he was able to cheerfully accommodate us at every turn. Shalom’s operation is amazingly computerized, allowing everything to occur instantaneously at the click of a button. We will be back for sure!

Yashinsky FamilyDecember 25, 2012 - January 5, 2013

Shalom Israel Tours came highly recommended by several people who have used their services repeatedly. We were not disappointed! Our Bnai Mitzvot family tour of Israel was the trip of a lifetime for all 12 of us ( ages 70 to 9). From our landing in Israel everything was perfection from our accommodations, tours, schedules, appropriate activities for all ages, drivers and especially our marvelous guide, Yonni, who was knowledgable, professional and extra helpful with my physical limitations.

Severe FamilyDecember 26, 2012 - January 8, 2013

Our family of ten from age 73 to 13 used Shalom Israel Tour as part of an Israel Bar Mitzvah celebration. We booked the 12 day package. Shalom Stark of Shalom Israel Tour was excellent, kept us informed, and made sure everything flowed perfectly from our group pickup at the Airport to our final drop off. If you can, ask for Eli as tour guide (knowledgeable, accommodating, humorous and knows everyone). This trip highlights most of the significant Jewish Heritage sites. There is sufficient free time to go back and explore an area of interest. My wife and I returned to the Israel museum for five hours on a free day. Outstanding. My only criticism is we did not spend much time in Safed. But this trip also included a wonderful concluding bonus, a half day at a 4-5 star Dead Sea resort to enjoy the water. Older adults, middle agers and teens all found many things to enjoy. A well thought out itinerary.

I worked With Shalom for almost a year on planning a group tour for families from our community. Although I changed my mind on him 30 times he never lost patience worked with me to make the most of the tour. We just came back from spending 10 days and all 16 of us had the most amazing time.  Although I have been there many times before it never felt so smooth as Shalom was there every step of the way. He ALWAYS answers the phone day or night and is always there to help. He called every evening to make sure we had everything we needed and one day when the weather was hot, we get off the bus and Shalom and is standing there with cold bottles of water for the whole group. He doesn’t just do everything he promises , but rather so much more and its the many extra’s that make you feel pampered when he is running your trip. We had one minor challenge in our programming and Shalom stepped out super fast and reworked it so not one person noticed there had even been a change.. I really don’t have enough words to describe it , but I look forward to many more trips with Shalom and I highly recommend him.

Mitchell FamilyDecember 25, 2012 - January 3, 2013

Shalom Israel Tours was perfect. From the point we landed to the point we left the tour was fantastic. We had a family trip for 4 with a private guide. Every step of the trip went extremely smoothly. We had two separate guides Shimon and Mier. Both knew so much and made the entire family comfortable. I would highly recommend using Shalom Israel Tours on my next trip to Israel. They were great.

Janin FamilyDecember 12-26, 2012

Having just arrived home from a two-week tour of Israel, I can genuinely say that it was one of the best trips I have ever taken. Shalom Tours arranged the limo services, hotels, and guides with impeccable attention to all the details. Each day was so interesting and I never felt any problem with safety or security. Also, although my husband was supposed to take the optional tour to Petra, he was not able to do so at the last moment. One phone call to Shalom, and the refund was issued. No hassles and no red tape. I really appreciated that service. Also, Shalom’s recommendations about the phones and wifi were dead on. As a person who has traveled many places around the world, I highly recommend Shalom Tours for a great trip to Israel.

Dan KuselDecember 22-28, 2012

Shalom put together a simply PERFECT tour for my family of 4. Our private tour guide, Mordechai Weiss was wonderful. We highly recommend Shalom to anyone looking for a trip to Israel. We traveled as a family of four. My son was Bar Mitzvahed on the top of Masada and my daughter (two years younger – 10) enjoyed the trip as much as my son. Whenever I go back to Israel I will be using Shalom. I have been to Israel twice before (including as a student) and never experienced it this way. Wonderful! Thanks Shalom and Mordechai!

After researching many tour operators we selected Sholom Israel Tours because of their itinerary and their immediate responses to our inquiries. They did not hesitate to change some of the itinerary as we desired. Because of this attentiveness, another couple joined us. We were to be provided with a 7 passenger van, and a driver/guide: Mordechai.

As we deplaned, we were immediately escorted to the luggage area, luggage picked up for us, and brought to a waiting Mordechai. (what service). Mordechai was a fantastic guide; the breath and wealth of info and history he provided and the extra sites he added when we had extra time were unbelievable. He even arranged for us to visit a kibbutz to see my cousins we had never met. He was the best guide we have ever had.

Shalom Stark telephoned us often to ensure that we did what we planned, that we were satisfied and were doing ok. He even sent a dried fruit and nut platter to our rooms for us. Where do you get this kind of consideration and treatment? This made our Israel trip with Shalom Israel Tours the best we have taken in our 50 years of travelling. As a side note, we met many people at the hotels(some of whom we knew) and when we showed them our itinerary, they indicated that they did not see much of what we had seen and what we were going to see..

Foxman FamilyOctober 19-31, 2012

Our experience with Shalom Israel tours was absolutely flawless. We were picked up promptly at the airport and taken to our hotel. All 5 of the various hotels we stayed in, had the reservations accurately registered. The tour guide assigned to us, was very knowledgeable as well. We saw as much as one could expect in our 14 day trip. Our tour guide needed to rearrange some stops, which meant a few changes in the itinerary. I called Shalom and he took care of it immediately. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Gershater FamilyOctober 15 - November 2, 2012

I am a writer, but words won’t ever be able to adequately describe my gratitude to Shalom Israel Tours.

Most importantly, when I told Shalom Israel Tours what I wanted in my three- week tour in Israel, they listened to my every word. They created an itinerary that included snorkeling in the Red Sea, dancing at the Western Wall, a dune buggy ride in the Golan Heights, shopping in the Jerusalem market, a restful stay at a quiet seaside kibbutz, a Shabbat dinner with Israeli soldiers, a two-day desert adventure to Petra and Wadi Rum, touring ancient Roman ruins, sunsets in Tzfat and more.

Every hotel and every meal exceeded our expectations. I took our family of seven for a trip of a lifetime. Shalom Israel Tours created an experience that far exceeded every one of our dreams.

After searching the internet for many months for our very first “perfect” and all encompassing trip to Israel, we decided to travel with Shalom Israel Tours. What a pleasure to work with Shalom Stark. Every question and/or request was responded to immediately. The itinerary, chosen by Shalom, was incredible as we traveled north, south, east, and west. We learned and enjoyed EVERYTHING!!!! The historic sites were amazing; the guides were so knowledgable, considerate of our needs, and wonderful. You have done a great job Shalom and our first time experience in Israel is one that will never be forgotten! Thank you.

This trip was my first time in Israel. We were expecting a standard tour with the usual sights but received much much more from Shalom Tours. There is not enough praise that I can give to our guide Meni, that can truly indicate how magical he made our first experience in Israel. He went above and beyond to make sure that everybody was engaged in the daily activities and his knowledge of Israel is truly incredible. We have been on several tours in the past years of other places and countries, but I have to admit this company is definitely the most organized and professional company I have used and they truly enjoy what they are doing which makes it that much more pleasant for the customers. Our guide’s enthusiasm and infectious smile really set the tone for our tour. His love of his job and country comes out in every word and action that he displays, and his willingness to engage every person on the tour and make sure that everybody was having the time of their lives was unbelievable. I am not the type of person that writes reviews in fact this is my first, but the time spent in Israel and having Meni lead the way is a memory that will last a life time. I just wanted to thank Shalom Tours and Meni for making that happen for my wife and me.

Crawford FamilyOctober 12-21, 2012

Fabulous experience! We loved the trip. Shalom was very organized and responsive in helping us plan the trip. The itinerary Shalom recommended was a perfect balance of history, religion and fun. Our guide was great. He had to please 3 generations (from 76 years to 5 years old), plus balance 2 languages (all while driving, guiding, etc.) and he did it flawlessly. We would recommend this tour company without hesitation. We loved every minute of our trip. Completely interesting, hassle-free and fun.

Shalom Stark’s close personal follow-up on every detail of our Israel visit left us feeling we were in good hands. From the history lessons and current information about Israel, to the recommendation for iced coffee at Aroma, and everything in between Aaron, our full time guide, covered it all with a well displayed intense desire to do the absolute best for us. We walked on the Golan heights, Masada, at the Wall, Old and New Jerusalem, etc. We swam at a Kibbutz, a lake and the Dead, the Red and the Med seas. We went from the north to the south and east and west covering all of Israel in a 13 day well organized tour.

You would definitely enjoy Shalom Israels offerings.

We had an amazing two week trip which was arranged through Shalom Israel tours. From my first contact with Shalom everything went perfectly. I emailed our dates and he responded immediately with a prospective itinerary and cost. We had never been to Israel and asked for input from friends and family. I relayed this information to Shalom and he readily modified the itinerary. From the moment we landed we were looked after by the people Shalom arranged to assist us. We were met as we stepped out of the plane and driven to an separate customs desk-no waiting. We then picked up our luggage and were delivered to the hotel. We spent our first days in Jerusalem and Shalom arranged for Patrick to give us an informative walking tour around the wall and the different quarters. Shalom then placed us in the excellent hands of Shimon who enthusiastically relayed the history of Israel as we toured through the various sites. He wanted us to learn as well as experience the sites, and daily we went through the sequence of conquering armies and the events that occurred. He helped us tie things together and was a wealth of information. Shimon would modify our schedule slightly to show us something interesting to see along the way. He was so enthusiastic about every place we went and brought the history and country to life. Shalom was only a phone call away if assistance was needed. When I couldn’t unlock my rental phone (I arranged for this on my own and the company was closed for the day), I called him and he was able to tell me how to unlock it. I cannot thank Shalom and Shimon enough for their professionalism and experienced guidance in making our first trip to Israel so memorable.

After much research on the Internet, we decided that Shalom Israel Tours gave us the most for the least. We expected cut rate service for the price, however, we were pleasantly surprised that Mr. Shalom Stark gave us individualized excellent service from answering questions about his tour to providing direct support while in Israel whenever we had problems arising from the loss of our passports. He was always available by phone, consistently gave us courteous and reliable information no matter how trivial. Everything about the 11 day tour we took was exceptional, from the expertise and knowledge of the tour guide to the quality of the hotels and a great itinerary. Shalom Stark made what could have been a disastrous vacation into a truly memorable one! We cannot praise him enough.

Katz FamilyJuly 19 - August 2, 2012

Shalom Stark of Shalom Israel Tours arranged an incredible tour of Israel for my family (my husband, me, and 2 of our sons — 15 and 21 years old) for 15 days. I would highly recommend him and his tours to anyone thinking of visiting Israel. He is very accessible — by e-mail and by phone. I called during the daytime here and though it was night (7 hour time difference), he still answered his phone, and he answered all my many questions. Plus, I liked the fact that he was in Israel — that was definitely better to me than a tour operator who wasn’t even in the country I was visiting.

On top of it all — he surprised us with presents! We were given 2 netsticks so my sons had internet service on their laptop computers throughout Israel — even on the bus. We were each given hats and water bottle carriers (a necessity in the heat of the summer), and right before Shabbat when we returned to our hotel room after a long day visiting Qumran, Masada, an Ahava Factory, and the Dead Sea, there was another present awaiting us — a large tray of cookies and nuts. He was just so thoughtful!

This vacation will be long remembered by myself and my family as it was perfect and I attribute that to Shalom Israel Tours.

Hi Shalom,  Our trip was great and all worked out well. The choice of sites, coordination and accommodations were all good.

I want to put in a special word for our tour guide. He was excellent–very efficient, careful about details, appropriately concerned about our experience and well-being. He clearly was dedicated to the effort and informative about the subjects. He was warm, outgoing and personable. I think his approach helped to make the experience an enjoyable and memorable one.

Dear Shalom, We had a wonderful trip and everything was perfect. The hotels were wonderful. Our driver and guide made us feel that we were in our home. They explained what we were looking at and the story of where we are. We saw so munch and learned a lot.

The people of Israel have done so much in the last 60 years you should all be very proud of your country. As an american Jew we all felt we were in our home country and we feel much closer to the state of Israel and its people.

Thank you for setting everything up for us and making the two week a trip of a trip of a life time. EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL no problems came up I just wish time did not go so fast.  We would like to come back home to Israel in the future. There is go much to see of Israel and two week is not enough time.  Thank you again!  Arthur Kohen

Shalom, thank you for an incredibly memorable trip I had a fabulous time!  We went to places and saw things that others in Israel never get to do.  Your guide Mordecai was one of the nicest people and best guides I have ever had the pleasure of traveling with.  He and the Rabbi made the trip educational, instructive, and fun for me.  I can’t say enough about both of them.  Best regards and feel free to use me as a reference any time you need.  The trip was incredible and certainly was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.  Thanx again, Richard Polisner

Shalom, I had been thinking about you since we left Israel and wanted to reach out to you first! Everything we saw and experienced is just beginning to sink in!  I want to come back!!  I can’t say enough regarding the wonderful itinerary and how smoothly the days passed.  Mordecai was the best and Elliot was amazed at how he presented the history.

It was so nice to see you a few times on the trip and match a face to the name.  I will never hesitate to recommend you and Shalomisrael tours to EVERYONE I meet.

Thank you for the trip and itinerary that was the best, bar none! Lorraine and Elliot

I wanted to send you some quick feedback about our trip as booked through Shalom Israel Tours. My husband and I had a fantastic time every day we were in Israel, especially in Jerusalem. Everything (the hotel, the tour guide, the itinerary, etc) exceeded our expectations and we feel truly blessed to have experienced Jerusalem this way. Your help — in customizing our itinerary, booking the hotel for us, and selecting such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide– was invaluable. Aharon, our guide, really made the history come alive and become unforgettable.

Thanks again for all your help. We are definitely recommending Shalom Israel Tours to our friends and we hope to book another trip in the future to Israel through your company!

Gary & Janet SchwartzMay 11-20, 2012

Shalom, I wanted to thank you. You set up a fantastic trip with a great itinerary and wonderful guide. We’d return in a heartbeat. We particularly appreciated the upgraded rooms in Tzfat & Tel Aviv. Toby made the trip fantastic. Her knowledge, good humor, willingness to adapt to our changing interests and to suggest options made the trip that much better. Beyond that, we had fun each day and have been thinking about the agenda for our next trip.

While we didn’t know anyone before arriving in Israel, we now feel as though we have made some good friends.

Mr. David MarcusMay 2-16, 2012

Hi Shalom, I just wanted to thank you for a great time in Israel- mostly due to you and the great tour you made for me.  The three main highlights of my tour were Jerusalem,  floating in the Dead Sea, and last, but not least, the trip to Petra.  I will recommend your tour to anyone I meet who intends to travel to Israel.  It was my pleasure meeting you in person.  Thanks again for the complementary “gift” of the light show, which no other group had,  in Jerusalem.  Take care of yourself, Shalom.
With good feelings,
Dave Marcus, New York City

I want to thank you so much for helping to make our trip to Israel so easy and meaningful.  You knew exactly what kind of connections and tour my father (83) and I needed.  Our travel arrangements and hotel accommodations were perfect.  We especially enjoyed the breakfasts at the Prima hotels and Kibbutz Lavi was a wonderful.  The tour guides were all fabulous.  They were able to share their vast knowledge and had the ability to make the information meaningful and entertaining at the same time.  My father even went into the Dead Sea and rode on the jeep tour.  Thank you so much for helping us have such a wonderful visit!  I wanted my father to have the trip of his lifetime, and he did!   Of course, I had a fabulous time as well.  I will be back!

Thanks again, Deborah

I recently brought a group of 20 of my congregants to Israel for a 12-day tour. I was very nervous as this was our first official trip and I wanted it to be perfect. Shalom created the most fabulous journey for us and it ran seamlessly. I didn’t have to worry about anything, All the logistics were handled for me and I was actually able to enjoy the trip despite the fact that I was the leader. Shalom’s professionalism was truly outstanding. During the months leading up to the trip he responded to every question that I had immediately. I was never left in limbo, I always had an immediate response and the answer was always, “Yes we can take care of that,” or “Yes, we can make that happen.” I would never consider using any company other than Shalom Israel Tours for future trips to Israel. I could not have been more pleased.

When planning the trip, Shalom returned our emails with questions answered and great suggestions . … Promptly! No delays, no messin’ around. We contacted several tour Israel operators using the Internet, Shalom gave us the most options and the best service.

We had what we thought were good ideas, he was very patient exploring them with us and built a custom tour that we really enjoyed! His guides were terrific, they were never late and hugely, HUGELY knowledgeable.

We travelled from Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Dr. Jeffrey BelkinMarch 18-26, 2012

Shalom Israel tours took care of every detail on our ten day tour of Israel.  They whisked me through the airport on arrival and departure, they put me in great hotels, their guides were superb-  Everything was on time and as planned.  They have a great customer service attitude, you could not do better.

The trip was great and Shalom took care of every detail. It wasn’t just the tour itself but his attention to all the details outside of the tour. I plan on using him when I take my congregation on a tour next year.

It was only a couple weeks before I was going to fly to Israel, my first journey to the Holy Land, and I was still unsure as to where I was staying and what I was going to do while there.  After a few Google searches I landing at ShalomIsraelTours.com and inquired about a tour starting in a couple weeks.  Mr. Stark contacted me with all the details quite promptly and as if this guy needs no sleep was available every hour I tried to contact him for additional questions and from then on until the trip started I felt I had not only a plan, but someone very knowledgeable to assist in every detail along the way.

The entire tour was so well guided by a veteran of 42yrs in the tour guide industry and part time police volunteer.   His insight and ability to truly explain the depths of the significance of the places we visited added a realism to the experience that I only wish I could have video recorded the entire thing.  If someone were to ask me for a suggested tour company to use and guide I would have no trouble at all recommending Shalom Israel Tours and their choice in tour guides.

The Buffalo “Crew”October 31st – November 13th 2011

Back in 90-91 we saw a lot of cisterns/wells and mosaic floors and a lot of ruins… but this trip was alivwith the visit to the Carmel Winery, the chocolate factory was an absolute treat, and Tel Dan was a great and I even dipped my feet in the pond.  And speaking of forests…to actually plant a tree in Israel-Wow!

Our boat ride on the Kineret was a blast…. thanks to the Captain for playing all the oldie music, we danced  and “twisted” the night away.  We are all glad we got to schlep the “City of David”  and I mean schlep.  Squeeze here, watch your head there and oops step up or step down.  The light show- amazing. We were exhausted but it was a wonderful exhaustion.

You have no idea how much fun we had in the Dead Sea. We never went in the water years ago but this time with the peer pressure from our friends and family we got him in the water and FLOATED.  A miracle. Mordechai was wonderful. I don’t know how he put up with all of our craziness. The hotels were terrific, the food was so much fun, so many choices at breakfast and dinner- Loved it all.  Tel Aviv, Eilat, going into Jordan and seeing Petra.  Did we really do all that in just two weeks.  It was the trip of a lifetime.

Mark Nelson, Esq.September 16th - 30th, 2011

Dear Shalom – I want to specifically thank you for the tour of Israel.  It was exactly what you promissed and more.  The sites were interesting and well selected and the accomodations were excellent.  Thank you for helping me with all the arrangements on such short notice.  You did a great job.

I also want to give a special note of commendation to our guide, Lior Eitam.  I have travelled extensively through many countries for many decades.  I can honestly say that Lior is one of the very best guides I have every had in my entire life-  The world should send Lior to the United Nations to resolve all problems.

Neal Fialkow, Esq.August 11th - 25th, 2011

It is not often that I am able to say that my expectations were exceeded, in fact, greatly exceeded.  Yet, Shalom Stark did exactly that by delivering the perfect Israel tour.  No easy feat because my wife’s interests and my interests are quite diverse- she also wanted to see all the Christian sites and I being Jewish wanted to see all the Jewish sites,  We both gravitate to small tour groups and private tour guides.  Each of us had never been to Israel before and we wanted our 17 day trip to be the best ever.  I was constantly calling Shalom for ideas and how to best arrange our trip.  Even with the substantial time difference (I’m from California) he took my calls or returned my calls almost immediately.  He was professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and truly designed a personal, custom, and very unique tour for us.

If anyone has any questions and would like to talk to me directly, they are welcome to do so.  I give Shalom Tours my permission to provide my email address to anyone who would like me to share my experiences with them.

Thanks Shalom for a most memorable and unique tour!

This summer I took a group to Israel for the first time.  As a young Rabbi with limited recourses I was concerned that the demands of planning and coordinating a trip would be too much for me, and to expensive for my community during a recession. Shalom Stark at Shalom Israel Tours laid my fears to rest. Based on my group’s interests he planned out a fabulous trip down to the last detail and he worked with our budget to make sure the trip was affordable.

Once we arrived in Israel, I didn’t have to worry about anything, Shalom handled every twist and turn with skill and ease so I could concentrate on my group and connect with them.  Every Rabbi in his community should consider a group trip to Israel, and with Shalom Israel Tours you can truly give them the trip of a lifetime!

Landa FamilyJuly 7th – 17th, 2011

Shalom Stark made our visit to Israel the most memorable trip we have taken. The tour guides he works with are extremely knowledgeable, very personable and passionate people. Shalom was efficient and responsive to our individual needs (because we were traveling with a 10 month old baby). Shalom was always accessible to us during our entire trip.  He is very easy to work with, flexible, and accommodating to last minute changes.

When we make plans for a future trip, we will definitely be contacting Shalom to arrange the details and tours. I highly recommend Shalom Stark for your trips to Israel!

From the moment we arrived everything was taken care of.  We had a private taxi from the Airport to Jerusalem.  We met Shalom there the first night. I am not sure if you have talked to him yet, but he was exceptionally pleasant and helpful even before I left, answering all questions that this first timer had!

We saw him almost every day when we were in Jerusalem, but not when we went to Tiberias.  He did give us his cell phone number as well as did we give him ours.  When we were in Jerusalem, he would chaeck to make sure everything was going well.  I mean personally one on one.  He showed a true interest in making sure we were enjoying Israel. Even when we went north to Tiberias, he called a couple of times, again … Just to check in.

We had no change in plans due to any issues in Israel.   We ourselves as a group suggested a few things that we would like to do, and Shalom made them happen. The hotels were nice, to be honest, I was just thrilled to be in Israel.

I highly recommend Shalom!

Dr. Sam KleinJuly 5th - 19th, 2011

Last summer I had a fantastic trip to Israel with Shalom Israel ToursShalom himself personally was always available to me by phone prior to the trip to answer my questions.  In addition, he personally came to our hotel on the first day to meet our group.  The tour guide he provided was phenomenal!  Everything went very smoothly. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends.

Daniel RubinJune 27th - July 11th

As we were deciding on a tour, we began contacting various operators.  When we contacted Shalom Stark, we learned not only that he is really in Israel, but that he is originally from Ohio.  Since we were from Ohio, we asked about his Ohio ties.  We were thrilled (Jewish Geography now) that he worked with several Rabbis in Columbus, all of whom we knew quite well.

When I inquired about the tour, he immediately began giving us suggestions based upon our input.  We liked having the opportunity to have someone listen to our objectives and tailor a trip to meet those objectives.  Shalom also routinely contacted us with follow up questions and was readily available to answer any new questions or ideas that we came up with.

We met 24 other Jewish travelers on the tour, all that purchased their tours from their own agents.  Naturally, everyone was given different advise by their own agents and also paid a different tour package fee.   When we got on the bus initially with the entire group of our new friends, we were the only ones to be handed an envelope with another copy of our itinerary, hats and maps for our tour.  None of our fellow travelers were provided with same.

On the last Sunday morning of our time in Israel, Shalom actually met us at our hotel for coffee.  His number one concern was our satisfaction.  He asked what if anything we could suggest he add or change to the tour and about our tour guide.  He spent a good deal of his morning with us.  Amazingly, shortly after returned home, we were sent a blanket e-mail with a couple of new tours for Israel from Shalom Israel Tours.  Our comments and suggestions for changes were IN THE NEW TOURS he was offering.  Talk about listening to clients!

Sydenham Highlands North ShulJune 13 – 19, 2011

Our Shul being the Sydenham Highlands North Hebrew Congregation in Johannesburg decided to have a tour to Israel in June 2011.  At the outset we got quotes from 5 different tour operators in Israel and after much correspondence with all of them decided to use the services of Shalom Israel Tours.

The main reason for choosing Shalom was his efficiency
in responding to all our questions and changes that we wanted to make to our itinerary.  Nothing was too much trouble for him and believe me trying to make 29 people happy with all their requests was not an easy task for him but he handled it  with true professionalism.

Suffice it to say that we  all had the most wonderful and enlightening tour of Israel which will remain with us forever.  Our Shul will hopefully have more tours to Israel in the future and I am positive that we will call upon the services of Shalom once again.

For those looking to travel to Israel should not look further than Shalom Stark. His assistance in the planning phase of the trip was perfect. He works with you and he is very patient. He is able to connect with you and plan the perfect trip for your family based on your interests.

The actual trip was pure quality. He only has the best guides. We were very lucky to have Shimon who was excellent. Beware , you will be thinking twice about leaving Israel after touring with him.

Shalom did not mind calls as we were in Israel. He was always a phone call away. He helped us to make last minute changes on the schedule or even flights. Having access to him while you are there gives you peace of mind and is priceless. The price of the trip was very reasonable without compromising in the quality. No other company was able to match his prices.

Overall my experience with Shalom and his company was excellent. I could not have had ask for more. I recommend him without hesitation.
