Lone Tree Brewery Tour

The Lone Tree Brewery prides itself on producing great, handcrafted beer. Each tour of the modest microbrew facility, located in the forest of Gush Etzion, includes several components. The tour is designed to be hands-on. Since tours are arranged in advance, the staff tries to brew its beer on days when tour groups will be visiting, so you can really get the complete experience of the sights, sounds and smells of beer-making.

You’ll be introduced to the grains that Lone Tree Brewery uses in its beers and have the opportunity to taste them as raw ingredients. Each stage of the beer brewing and fermenting process is another opportunity to learn and taste for yourselves.

The tour culminates with a beer tasting. Since Lone Tree Beers is a microbrewery, they don’t have a hugely diverse product line, but each visitor is given the chance to taste two or three of their craft beers.

As part of every visit, the staff at Lone Tree Brewery makes sure to introduce participants to the Gush Etzion region and its significance. Your Lone Tree guide will discuss a bit of the history and physical features of the area. On clear days, visitors can see great distances from the brewery’s grounds, from nearby communities of Beitar Elit, Tzur Hadassah and Gvaot, all the way to southern coastal cities like Ashdod and Ashkelon.

The entrance fee here is modest and includes the beer tasting. You should allow up to 45 minutes for the full tour, including time for questions and answers. Children ages 5 to 17 are most welcome on the tour and pay a reduced entrance fee, as they are not permitted to taste the beer itself.

At just a bit over 500 square feet, Lone Tree’s current facility is limited to groups of 20 or fewer guests at a time. Larger groups are divided into sections and alternate between a tour of Lone Tree Brewery and a visit to the Deer Park, located just across from the brewery.

If you visit during September or October, be sure to taste theirPale Ale, which is fermented with pomegranates and date honey and is produced only around the Jewish New Year. All Lone Tree Beers are certified Kosher L’Mehadrin.
