Wonderful Experience, Start to Finish!

Our first visit to Israel, March 7-21, was inspiring, eye-opening and surprisingly emotional. Shalom Stark, through Shalom Israel Tours, provided an excellent itinerary, impeccable lodging and an extraordinary tour guide for our 2 week Jewish Heritage tour. Needless to say, we were more than satisfied.

We were lucky enough to travel on a small bus with six other couples who quickly became friends and helped make the trip even more enjoyable.

The tour was phenomenal. Every tour day was full of history and amazing sites, locations that we wanted to see, and many others that we had never heard about but rounded out our knowledge of the country. We travelled from the modern city of Tel Aviv to the thousands year old city of Jerusalem, from the heights of Masada to the depths of the Dead Sea and finally from the resort city of Eilat to the historical city of Petra in Jordan. We were surprised at how beautiful the scenery was and the change from the Golan Heights to the Negev Desert. We could not ask for a better tour.

Our guide, Eli Dabi, was amazing and made the history of the country and its people come alive. He was passionate about his country, knowledgeable about its history and funny. He helped us understand what it took to be a settler and what it is like to live in Israel today. We could not have asked for a better guide.

Shalom Israel Tours took care of everything and everything worked like clockwork, from the person who met us after customs in Tel Aviv, to the driver who picked us up at our hotel in the middle of the night to take us back to the airport for our flight home. The hotels we selected were centrally located allowing us to tour on our own, especially on Shabbat. Shalom Stark was a pleasure to deal with when we first started to consider the tour and was always responsive to our questions and needs even after we came home.
