While rain is seen as a blessing for Israelis, the wet season can wear down the average travel. There are plenty of winter days with clear skies and ample opportunity for outdoor exploration. When the rain clouds start hovering, though, do like the Israelis and head for cover, enjoying some of these indoor activities when you do.
From the Bloomfield Science Museum to the Israel Museum, Ammunition Hill and Yad VaShem, a good museum is never more than a stone’s throw away in Israel. There are too many to list, but a quick search will turn up a treasure trove of outlets, ideal for filling rainy days with fun, entertainment and enlightenment. Don’t forget to include some ancient synagogues along your tour.
Head to Canada
If you are traveling up north, then the Canada Center is the place to spend a rainy day (or any day for that matter)! This huge arena hosts something for everyone, with a shooting range, ice skating rink, heated pools, 7D cinema and more. You can’t guarantee much in life, but heading straight for the Canada Center is pretty much a surefire bet that you’ll have a great time.
Take in a Show
Just as Israel is brimming with culture, this land is bursting with soul as well. Whether you enjoy music or theater, there is an outlet for your passion right here. Check out the Jerusalem Music Center or visit the Jerusalem Cinematheque to quench your thirst for some entertainment that’ll keep you out of the rain.
Rainy days are just as opportunity-filled as any other day in the wondrous land of Israel. So grab an umbrella, and go have some fun!
