Olive and Fish is a classic Israeli restaurant, conveniently situated for both tourists and locals.
Olive and Fish is located opposite the Liberty Bell Park and Montefiore Windmill, close to many of Jerusalem’s top luxury hotels. The understated yet stylish decor and warm atmosphere are enhanced by authentic photos of past generations of Jerusalemites and images of picturesque Jerusalem. Seating areas are available both indoors and on the outdoor terrace.
Olive and Fish is mainly a fish restaurant. There are chicken and beef dishes as well, but the fish is where the chef and the restaurant shine.
There are a variety of first courses including soup of the day, asparagus prepared with wine, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, thyme and garlic, tuna tartare with a confit of roasted beets and Mediterranean seasonings and hot salmon salad which is chunks of salmon and sweet potato with tehini-sesame sauce on greens, sprouts and pineapple.
Main courses consist of fish, including grilled St. Peter’s fish filet with fresh herbs and served with sautéed cherry tomatoes and peppers; grilled bass filet served with asparagus, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and white wine; and deep fried St. Peter’s fish. Chicken courses include grilled boneless chicken breast served with date honey sauce or Middle Eastern seasonings; chicken livers sautéed with brandy and light cream; and half duck prepared with pears, apple cider, and white wine. Meat choices contain freshly ground aged grilled steak burger with fresh vegetables, fried onions, and chips; grilled, sliced sirloin steak served with tomato chutney; and filet of aged beef medallions served with Portobello mushrooms in red wine sauce. All main dishes are served with a choice of potatoes, rice, or couscous with dried fruit and green salad or grilled vegetables.
Try the pecan pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Olive and Fish has a large selection of liquors and wines to choose from as well.
Specials of the Day are listed on a chalkboard and change daily. Business lunches are served Sunday-Thursday.
First courses cost between 14-48 NIS, with salads being 48-68 NIS. Main courses run 78-135 NIS. Desserts are 26 NIS. Business lunches are 65/75/85 NIS, depending on the main course chosen.
