Nahal Me’arot Nature Reserve

The Nahal Me’arot Nature Reserve is located near Haifa, on the western Carmel Mountain Range region. The caves located in the reserve provide evidence of prehistoric humans from over 200,000 years ago. The tour of the reserve commences with a visit to the Oven Cave, an important location where scientists have discovered multiple prehistoric cultures. Then there is the Camel Cave with displays prehistoric tools used. The Stream Cave provides visitors with an audiovisual presentation demonstrating the life of prehistoric human beings. At the exit of the cave is an exact model of a prehistoric skeleton used to illustrate the more than 10,000-year-old burial practices of prehistoric cultures.
