ARRIVE IN THE HOLY LAND 

Welcome at Ben Gurion Airport

After clearing passport control a Shalom Israel Tours representative will be waiting to welcome you, assist with luggage, and escort you outside to your waiting chauffeur.

Arrive in Tel Aviv

Stretched along the beautiful beach strip of the Mediterranean Sea, Tel Avis is often considered the face of modern Israel.  Nicknamed “The White City” for its abundance of Bauhaus architecture, Tel Aviv was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City in 2003.

Day 2 Thursday

TEL AVIV – A NATION IS BORN

Independence Hall

On May 14th, 1948 Prime Minister David Ben Gurion proclaimed the founding of the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years. Today this location is a museum exhibiting the signing of the Declaration of Independence of Israel and more.

Latrun Police Station & Tank Museum

Numerous significant battles took place here during the 1948 War of Independence. In 1967, Latrun was finally liberated from Jordanian rule during the Six Day War.

Mini Israel Park

This park is a 35,000 square meter extravaganza with 385 of the most important historical, cultural, and architectural tour sites in Israel at a 1:25 miniature scale.

Underground Bullet Factory - Ayalon Institute Museum

This secret factory was established in 1945. While it  appeared as a Kibbutz laundry facility above ground, below the noisy laundry machines was an underground facility working to produce two million bullets in preparation of the War of Independence.

Evening at Leisure in Tel Aviv

Visit the “Soho” of Tel Aviv and walk along famous streets. Filled with unique vendors and funky coffee shops along with simple kiosks and local Falafel and Shawarma stalls – it is enough to bring out a little “Bohemian” in anyone who walks down these streets.

Day 3 Friday

TEL AVIV – PICTURESQUE PORTS & PROMENADES

The Diaspora Museum (Beit Ha-Tfutsot)

This Tel Aviv University museum houses displays from the days of the Temple years ago to the present day.  Pass through the six “gates” of Family, Community, Faith, Culture, the Jewish people among the nations, and the return to the land of Israel.

Rabin Square & Memorial

In this famous sqaure, Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated. You’ll take time to view the newly remodeled memorial square in central Tel Aviv, and learn about the many impacts Rabin had on the state of Israel during his time leading the country.

Old Jaffa Port & Market

Over 4,000 years old, the Jaffa Port is the oldest in the world.  In ancient times King Solomon imported cedars from Lebanon through Jaffa to build the Temple.  In modern times Jaffa was the entrance point for Jewish immigrants coming to build their nation.

Neve Tsedek Neighborhood

One of Tel Aviv’s first neighborhoods, Neve Tzedek was built in 1887 and has housed several famous artists and writers, including Nobel Prize winner Shmuel Agnon. Today this character filled area is still home to art galleries, cafes, and many cultural centers.

Nachlat Binyamin Arts & Crafts Fair

The first and biggest of its kind in Israel, every Friday this average street comes alive. Displaying Israeli made crafts, paintings, jewelry, and home décor, all products are hand made and sold by the artists themselves – the best spot for authentic gifts.

Day 4 Saturday

TEL AVIV – A DAY AT LEISURE

Tel Aviv – Jaffa Promenade

On a beautiful day, nothing beats a walk right along the beach. The promenade runs the entire length of the city (14 kilometers), from southern Jaffa to the northern Tel Aviv Port. On your stroll, you’ll enjoy a cool sea breeze and views of the Mediterranean.

The Tel Aviv North Port

Relax & stroll the north port, also known as the “Namal.”  The remodeled port won the European Biennial of Landscape Architecture, a prestigious European award for landscape architecture. Here you’ll find live performances, art, and great restaurants.

Day 5 Sunday

ISRAEL’S COAST – ANCIENT PORTS OF CONQUEROR’S 

Ancient City of Caesarea Ruins

After breakfast we’ll head north along Israel’s coast. We will travel to the Caesarea National Park which contains an impressive Roman Amphitheatre, the Hippodrome- a 20,000 seat horse racing arena, and the Roman Aqueducts found along the shore.

Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum

Dedicated to the Israeli Navy and the fourteen year immigration period known as the Ha’apala, this museum is literally built around one of the famous ships that brought immigrants over to Israel. Here you’ll discover the amazing story of the Af Al Pi Chen.

Acco Fortified Walls & Market

Onto one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world – Acco, dating back to the time of the Pharaoh Thutmose III. A walk along the land wall and along the sea wall is a unique experience, which illustrates the military strength of the protected city.

Rosh Hanikra Grotto’s and Cable Car

Next stop is Rosh Hanikra to see the beautiful grottoes made from waves hitting the soft chalk rock. Ride from the mountain top down to sea level via cable car to explore the Grotto’s which have formed over thousands of years – truly a wonder of creation.

Kibbutz Tour &  Evening Talk

During your stay at Kibbutz Lavi, you’ll get the chance to meet one of the residents and take a mini tour of the Kibbutz – you’ll get a real glimpse into the life of a “kibbutznik!”

THE NORTHERN GALILEE & TZFAT – THE CITY OF KABALLAH

Tzfat – Holy City of Air

Begin your day in Tzfat, the City of Air. The center of Jewish mysticism and one of Israel’s holiest cities awaits soul-seekers, nature enthusiasts, and historians to its cobblestone, art-lined streets, majestic mountains, and Kabbala-infused atmosphere.

Jeeping in the Golan Heights

Take an exhilarating ride through the Golan Heights via jeep! With the sun on your face and the wind in your hair, you’ll venture up, down, and all around the luscious green hills of the North. Be sure to keep an eye out for wild animals grazing in the fields!

Tel Facher Abandoned Syrian Base

Learn about one of the fiercest wars of Israel’s history, the Six Day War, as you explore this Syrian base. Discover the valor of the Israeli soldiers who conquered this territory in 1967.

The Famous Banias Spring

This archaeological site was formerly known as the city of Caesarea Philippi, located at the very foot of Mount Hermon. Today, it serves as a nature reserve full of luscious green, beautiful flora, ancient ruins, and of course the crisp flowing falls it is named for.

The Battle of Tel Chai Court

Here you’ll step into the exact room where the battle of Tel Chai took place to learn about the fierce and heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920.

DAY 7 TUESDAY

TIBERIAS & THE JORDAN VALLEY – TIMELESS SAGES

Tiberias – the City of Water

Learn about Tiberias Old & New, the ancient city founded in the 1st century sits on Israel’s main source of fresh water, the Sea of Galilee. We will also discuss the famous sages Rambam & Rabbi Akiva who left behind great legacys for the Jewish people.

Beit Shean National Park

Go back in time to the Roman and Byzantine eras at this monumental history site! Fight fierce gladiatorial battles at the excavated amphitheater, or relive biblical times as you stroll down a colonnaded street along the ruins of ancient structures that remain.

Ancient Beit Alfa Synagogue

Built during the Byzantine era, this excavated synagogue is most well-known for its miraculously well preserved mosaic filled with intricate artistic detail. The mosaic vividly portrays the Binding of Isaac, the Zodiac, and the holy Temple of Jerusalem.

Gan HaShlosha National Park

Chosen by Time Magazine as one of the world’s 20 most beautiful parks, here you’ll get a chance to relax and rejuvenate at one of the natural pools or Jacuzzis that are idyllically situated below a flowing waterfall. It is the perfect place to visit year round!

Ascend to Holy Jerusalem – the Eternal Capital

End the day with a beautiful drive through the Jordan Valley towards Jerusalem. You’ll stop at Mount Scopus as you enter the city to say the blessing of “Shehechiyanu” to celebrate the joyous and unique occasion of entering the holy capital in the holy city.

Evening at Leisure in Jerusalem

Filled with incredible boutique shops and locally owned cafes, Jerusalem is the opportune place to relax and shop.  Explore the Machne Yehuda Market, the store lined streets of King George St. or head out to a fabulous restaurant on Emek Refaim St.

DAY 8 WEDNESDAY

JERUSALEM OLD CITY – THE HOLY CITY OF FIRE

King David’s Tomb

First stop is Mount Zion to view the tomb of Israel’s famous king. King David conquered the Jubesite fortress to establish Jerusalem at the eternal capital of Israel. His son King Solomon would go on to build the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and continue his legacy.

Old City Jewish Quarter

Steeped in both ancient and modern Jewish and cultural history, here in the Jewish Quarter every stone has a story. You’ll venture through the Cardo, a colonnaded style street that was the heart of a major Roman city built atop the rubble of Jerusalem.

Four Sephardic Synagogues

Located deep in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, these synagogues are hardly visible to the naked eye due to the need for secrecy during Muslim rule beginning in the late 1500’s. These Sephardic synagogues were restored to their magnificence in 1967.

Western Wall Tunnels Tour

Descend into these infamous tunnels that are enriched with thousands of years of history. These tunnels tell the story of the ancient Jews living during the period of the two temples.  Stand on the original Roman Street from the times of Herod the Great and watch as the hidden layers of the Western Wall are revealed before your eyes.

THE JUDEAN DESERT – MASADA FORTRESS & THE DEAD SEA
