Tired of sitting in your hotel room because it’s cold outside? Then get your gear on, and head out for an unbelievable winter experience in Israel that you’ll dream about every day until your next trip. Here are the top winter activities to keep you active and having a blast!
If you’re a snow bunny, then you have got to hit up the Hermon Mountain ski resort. This is the home of a whole generation of desert-raised skiers. The novelty is only the beginning of the experience because skiing in the middle of the desert is loads of fun and a story that you’ll tell forever! Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, dining, and taking in the priceless view from atop this 2,073 meters above sea level mountain range that spans across the 600-acre resort decked out with chair lifts, cable cars – the works.
No, we’re not telling you to take in a show while you’re trying to get out and active. Cinema City, one of Jerusalem’s most happening shopping centers boasts a fabulous ice skating rink with 400+ square meters of ice (the real stuff!). Best of all, the rink caters to every level of skater from tiny tykes who can learn to skate with the help of dolphins, penguins, and other aids to expert skaters who are looking for any excuse to get out on the ice. The rink is only open for a limited time, so get in on the action while it’s still hot…er…cold!
Now ice cream might not be the first thing you think of when you are looking for a tasty treat in the middle of the winter, but one thing is for sure. By the time you finish your super active itinerary, you are going to be looking for something delicious that’ll also bring down your body temperature. That’s when the lip-smacking ice cream parlors of Israel will start to sound like music to your hungry ears.
There are ice cream shops all over Israel, but there are a few that you don’t want to miss. Katzefet is world-renowned, and rightly so. Aside from having the largest selection of flavors, creamy delights, and toppings, you can get free whip cream upon request! Good deal. The most exciting one is found on Ben Yehuda St., but they have several branches scattered about. Aldo and Zisalek also have fabulous flavors and a great selection.
Don’t spend a minute of your Israel vacation being bored when there’s so much fun to be had. Get out there and create some awesome memories!
